A generic Spanish waterfront hotel. Rooms are very small, but modern. Neighborhood is quiet, even though it is on the main street of the village. Lots of places to eat nearby.

Staff are not at all service-oriented or well-trained, and they don't speak English.

We booked into this Hotel after reading very good reviews on trip advisor, and we have not been disappointed.
We booked a seaview room with balcony(Room101) and got exactly that.
The rooms are small by English standards, but perfectly adequate, they are very well presented, and very clean looking.
The Bathroom was very good, with shower gel in small sachets, also some for the hair.
The Breakfast is continental, and with a good selection of cheeses, ham, croissants etc with wonderful coffee that you only seem to get in Spain.
This Hotel is in an excellent location, with grows over the harbour. Traffic a little noisy, but right on the main road ( I take my hearing aids out)
All in all a great value Hotel, with pleasant staff.
Would I recommend! Oh most definitely.

Our small simple room had the amenities we wanted, air conditioning and a TV. It was cleaned daily. Views from the terrace were wonderful. There were walkers of every age along the Marina...dogs too. Parking was on the street in front of the hotel and restaurant. Space was always available this time of year. We were so contented here we kept extending our stay by another day.

Room tip: a room with a Marina view and terrace is desirable

We had been at an event in Tortosa, and since we cannot find a reasonably priced, average quality restaurant in that city which serves a decent dinner at night, we chose to spend the night in Ampolla at a small hotel, with restaurant, which had been reccomended to us.

We arrived at about 10 pm, looking for something simple, you might almost say comfort food. We both ordered the fish soup - absolutely fantastic, and just right for a cold November night. My wife had the fried fish, as fresh as fresh could be and cooked to perfection, while I had a simple pasta dish. We would rate the restaurant as very good.

As for the hotel it is simple, a two star I think, but clean and adequate. The TripAvisor ratings go from Average to Very Good, there doesn't seem to be an intermediate category of Good, which is probably the right level for the hotel, except for the views over the port and the bay of Ampolla, and the friendly service, which raise it up to very good.

Room tip: ASk for a room overlooking the marina
