On a wet evening Villa Katarina's restaurant was close at hand for some hot food. It provided a relaxing, unhurried experience with several hotel guests also eating or having a drink whilst using their tablets. We ordered an interesting sounding chicken skewer dish which was grilled with vegetables and was very good. The waiter was concerned that a shared side salad would be enough for two people but it certianly was. Grilled pork was also presented nicely. Everything was very reasonably priced and despite being near the road their was enough foliage (great roses) to mask any noise.
At the end we included a tip for the waiter who returned it to us - clearly unused to receiving tips (which would be likely in somewhere where people are staying for prepaid B&B or half-board). However, he was very helpful, even when we changed tables (twice!) and certainly deserved it. On a trip to the toilet I found a range of children's pictures pinned up on the wall - emphasising VK's claim to be family friendly - they were fun to look at. We would happily visit again and try out more of the menu.
