We stayed here for one night on our way through France with our two daughters and booked a family room. The room was very small with decor from the 70's (and furniture probably!). The adjoining room we were promised for the children was little more than a cupboard to the side of our room, again all very shabby and in desperate need of upgrading. The bathroom, in the middle of the bedroom had a sliding door which was off it's hinges so didn't slide at all, in fact didn't even close. The shower was mouldy and had cracked tiles. Thankfully we only had to stay one night otherwise we would have checked out the following day. The meal in the restaurant was average but not suitable for children and we were served dirty glasses in the bar and had to ask for clean ones. Overall a dire experience, we would definitely not return.

We would like to say a BIG thank you to the Hotel Logis du Lac for their hospitality, wonderful
service and delicious food and wine. We had a memorable evening there on Saturday 7th April.
The lady on reception (the Head Chefs wife) tried to book us a taxi without success, we thought we would have to walk the 4.75 miles to our accommodation, but to our absolute delight the lady on reception, offered us a a lift with her husband the Head Chef, their kindness and generosity was greatly appreciated.
We look forward to our next visit to Combourg and the Hotel Logis du Lac.

Pleasantly situated overlooking the lake with the imposing chateau behind in easy walking distance of the town centre.
Prices of the room and restaurant about what you would expect.
Rooms slightly cramped but more importantly ours was nice and quiet.
Dinner menu slightly short on choice but quality good. Enjoyed the lapin immensely.
On a wine buying trip and very disappointed with the wine offered. What was available in my opinion was vastly overpriced.
Atmosphere in restaurant like being in church.
Top marks for the young lady on reception.

What a crying shame. Overlooking the wonderful Lac Tranquille at the back and the glorious floodlight Chateau at the front the conditions of the rooms are nothing short of terrible. The shower was broken in both rooms and only one was fixed, the heater did not work in one bathroom and only occasionally in the other and the whole upstairs area needed a thorough cleaning. A decent inspection, a good clean and a small expenditure would make this into an excellent hotel to stay in. The reception staff, especially Yvelyn did maker up for some of this. The breakfast would only be enjoyed by those with a very sweet tooth - there was nothing savoury such as the normal cheese and ham served with a French buffet and it cost €8.50!!!. A kindly local restaurateur, Gaetan Leroux from the wonderul and historic La Cour du Temple eventually took pity and sent us back with some ham and cheese to enjoy with breakfast. The hotel restaurant looked far too formal and expensive with a limited choice, but there are two excellent ones within a 5 minute walk, Gaetan's which he runs with the help of Jannick, Isabelle and his daughter Mathilde and the equally historic Relais des Princes with Pascal and Ghuslaine Berthe and the glorious Sandrine. A few metres from the hotel is a great little Bar, Thelma del Sol owned by Jacqueline Truet who was certainly more fun than the hotel bar in which we only saw one person in 6 nights!

Watch out too - the hotel closes at about 21.00 most nights so don't forget the code to get back in! I would love to see the work done as the position is so excellent, but I would certainly check first before going back. Owner PLEASE NOTE!

Room Tip: If they carry out renovations the lake view rooms are quieter but do check that the improvements hav...

A very good location with comfortable room and memorable evening meals. However, during our 2 night stay, the fire alarm sounded a total of 4 times between 6am and 8 am with no one having any clue as to the cause. Some American guests decided to leave before breakfast and the experience spoilt the otherwise very pleasant stay en route from the Loire Valley to a week in Brittany.

Room Tip: Lake side rooms a must

A pleasant stay in a friendly and attractive hotel. We had a room overlooking the lake, and also the road running alongside it, which produced traffic noise - but not at night. The cuisine is very good, but not cheap, and the wine list is excessively expensive. The staff are charming and helpful. The room we had was simply furnished, but entirely adequate, quiet and clean. Combourg is a pleasant, small Breton town with shops, one or two other restaurants and a chateau worth a look. Very convenient for St Malo ferry travellers.

This is a nice and quite hotel with a perfect location in Combourg. Near the lake and the castle. There are many nice restaurants and creperies just a couple of minutes from the hotel. For example, we can recommend the creperie that's located on the other side of the bridge.
The Restaurant du Hotel du Lac serves excellent food as well. We had one of their menues one night and it was really good.
Our room was small and since we had an extra bed for our daugther there were almost no space left for anything else. The room had a french window fronting the lake. Having the window open meant that the humidity in the room became quite high. But it was a nice view!
The bathroom was ok, but very small just as the room.
The wireless internet connection didn't work from our room. We had to sit near the reception desk in order to get through to the internet.
We didn't have much for breakfast since we arrived just half an hour before laying the breakfast buffé off in the morning. Even though breakfast was served until 10 there were hardly no bread left and a lot of other things were missing as well. Apart from breakfasts the service was nice and satisfactory.
