“ A place to relax”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

We went here on a friends weekend. Metallica was in town and it was a big marathon in Stockholm, so we tried this hotel ( 8km from the city). It was surprisingly good. We we're 3 guys and had ordered a room with a extra bed. We ended up with a big family room (2 rooms, with a open door ). That was a positive bonus !
Breakfast was good .
We used the relax a lot. Normally it is prised 590 swedish kr per visit but its included in the hotel. It wasn't close to be worth that money, but for free it was wonderful . Nice and warm welcoming from the staff. Good lounge if you want to catch a game and have a drink.

its also a good walk in to the city if you want. Buy the water. It takes about a hour and a lot to see on the way.

This is a really nice hotel with amazingly friendly, helpful and serviceminded staff. You have free access to the relaxing spa and a well equiped gym, also this hotel is located in very nice surroundings. If you like to take a walk or go for a run, this is perfect!

The interior of this place is old, and way out of date. Cleaning not good, but hard when everything is worn and old.
Location is amazing with the park and lake, bus right outside to the city center in about 15 minutters. Great area for walkes and running.
Staff at check in were not were welcoming, and be aware, if you have not booked the room via their own channels they do NOT give bonus points in their own loyalty program. Emberrasing.
The restaurant is pricey and of very pool quality, wine assortment om the oter hand is great.
The breakfast is just a disgrace when looking at how this place market itself. Hardt ant wars choices, and whats there was cold, Even a few minuttes after opening in the morning.
There are many better hotell in Stockholm, and at a much lower rate with a lot better service. So unges you got to stay there, choose something else.

Room Tip: Other hotel?

Pool, breakfast, staff and everything was to my satisfaction. I will recommend it to all of my friends. It would be much better if the rate was lower thoughe! Our company would not mind that we were staying there during our stay in Stockholm.

Hotel looks impressive from the outside but once you get inside for business travel not wonderful. Room service menu pretty limited (breakfast room service options seen really restrictive, where is a bowl of fresh fruit), mini-bar contents minimal, coffee making in room adequate at best. I arrived to check in quite late, there was a fruit bowl by reception with one sorry looking apple in it. Rooms a good size & wifi fast & free.

I stayed for a couple of nights on business and excellent location for the Solna business park for corporate offices. The hotel is located in very nice grounds in a beautiful building and there is a drinks lobby on the ground floor.

I found that the rooms had everything I needed for a comfortable stay (internet, tea and coffee etc) but seemed a little basic, although fully functional. We dined as a large group in the restaurant and the food was good and excellent service so would recommend dining. Excellent setting and service but the rooms are very average.

Some Radisson Blu hotels are very good (see my review on the one in Uppsala) but I did not enjoy my stay here.

Some good aspects without question - it's a lovely old building and is lavishly presented. We ate in the restaurant and the food was first class - very very good indeed and served quickly given how busy the restaurant was (the location near the business district means that many people do eat there).

What I did not enjoy and the reason for only three stars were threefold:

1. Overall the staff were disinterested and grudgingly helpful. I was not offered wi-fi access on arrival (man in suit staying in business district probably needs wi-fi access?). What is it about wi-fi that makes some hotels think they are giving you the crown jewels? I got my "pass" which was ridiculously complicated but did work eventually.

2. The room was OK, but very warm indeed - too warm for comfortable sleep. I asked about this but was told there was no individual room temperature control available. Cue a very restless night.

3. Other aspects of the room were very poor - terrible pillows (had to use chair cushions) and water all over the floor from the waste system every time i used the sink

If I think about it too much I will remove another star. So for me not up to standard for a relatively expensive hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms similar, some too hot
