This is an extraordinary hotel with impeccable service, excellent food, wonderful amenities, beautiful architecture and unparalleled views. Our two bedroom suite was roomy and had a lovely terrace with views out of a picture they were so perfect. Along with our children, we had our 8 and 5 year old grandchildren. The staff was very kind to them and they so enjoyed the pool and grounds. The spa is an ultimate experience - especially the relaxation areas. Imagine our surprise when we left at 4:30 a.m. and we're given boxed breakfasts to take with us! Highly recommend.

We stayed for 10 days at Castello del Nero & every day was sheer pleasure. Our room was tastefully decorated, we loved the landscape from the terrace and restaurant, the staff were courteous, efficient & quietly entertaining, the pool was relaxing and the food excellent. The hotel is more like a resort and is well located for day trips to Siena, Lucca, the Etruscan Coast, San Gimignano etc. There are also several Michelin starred restaurants reasonable close which are well worth a visit. Highly recommended and we look forward to a return visit.

This hotel s placed perfectly between Florence and Siena with both a mere 30minute drive away. The hotel staff are wonderful, ready to help with anything and nothing is too much for them to do. The food is a delight, breakfast is difficult to walk away from and dinner is served on the beautiful terrace or in the hotel itself. The hotel's wine made from their own vineyards as well as their own pressed olive oil is both of excellent quality. The rooms are lovely with fantastic views over the Tuscan countryside and the pool/spa are wonderful areas to wind down after a days sightseeing. Very highly recommended - we will be back for sure!

Room Tip: We stayed in a double room suite with the best view...

My husband and stayed at Castello del Nero last year in May during a 16 day journey through Italy. From the moment we arrived, we felt the warmth of the Tuscan people who worked there, in an exquisite castle in the hills. To our surprise, our room was upgraded but I am sure every room would have been as wonderful. We relished in the divine view of the countryside and garden with a beautifully appointed room and a bottle of Presecco waiting for us... In all the places we have been in the world, the spa and services were top notch. Very private - we had the hydro area (sauna, whirlpool and showers with sweet fragrances) to ourselves. We enjoyed a delicious Tuscan lunch on the terrace in our robes before our spa experience - this place is near paradise. Before dinner, we enjoyed our conversation with the bartender, and were made to feel very welcome and relaxed. Dinner was fabulous and breakfast equally as delightful. The stay at this hotel was way more than we expected, and served us well to have the chance to just take in the beauty and relax in the mid point of our trip which was well needed. We are booked to return this year and can’t wait...

What a wonderful experience! We had taken a cruise out of Venice and decided to spend the last few days of our trip in Tuscany. This hotel was recommended by "Tuscany in Tour" and we were impressed ++++ with everything. Location.....the beautiful Chianti country side, the hotel......a restored castle from the 12 century, the restaurant........a terrace overlooking the country side, the spa.......so relaxing, and most of all the staff. Everyone that we dealt with went above and beyond what we expected. It was a wonderful way to spend our last 4 night in Italy. Thank you to all the staff on Castello del Nero (expecially Julia!)

First off, the grounds and views of the surrounding farmland/vineyards are outstanding. When you arrive and get out of the car the smell of lavender is something you will never get tired of. The rooms are nothing less than first class, and are kept extremely clean. It is a perfect base for travel to surrounding small towns and cities in tuscany. While we did travel to further towns such as Lucca, there really is no need to. Towns much closer such as Greve, San Gimignano and Certaldo are in my opinion, even more interesting and more authentic. The pool has the most beautiful views you could ever imagine, adding to the already relaxing nature of the place. The staff were very helpful in making reservations for dinner and wine tastings, we were beyond happy with each of their many recommendations. Special thank you to Fabio and Giula who really made our stay special. We will be back!!

Such a treat to stay in this 900 year old castle. Everything was perfect, the views, delicious food, charming service, sublime spa, heavenly swimming pool and bouncy astroturf tennis court. When we have saved up again, we would love to come back!

Room Tip: If you are on the ground floor, ask to go upstairs.
