Very clean apartments, spotless pool and fantastic hospitality! Great location for Florence, Sienna, San Gimignano and more.
No complaints but take a kettle if you're a tea lover like us!

We spent 15 days visiting Toscany in July 2009. Fattoria Pratale Hotel is a very convenient place to visit Firenze and, Sienna (motorway nearby) within nice (and calm) country side.

Comments : A car is requested !

I would firstly like to say that I booked this villa after reading a review on trip advisor.
the photos of the grounds & villa do not do it justice, it is such a pretty place.
the directions supplied by their website were very helpful as we drove from Milan airport in our hire car. There is a dirt road leading up to the villa, across the hills you can see vineyards & olive groves, picture perfect Tuscany!
we were greeted by staff upon arrival & shown to our villa on the first level(one flight of stairs) there are other villas on the ground floor levels but I liked ours because of the balcony which served as another eating area, especially at lunchtime. They had left 6 bottles of chianti on the table for us, nice gesture.
The staff also supply guests with a list of restaurants in the area but be careful, check with them first or ask them to book, we did drive to one only to find it had closed down...oh well, nice drive anyway.
The villas are basic, clean & have a small fridge & a portable oven/toaster & a cooktop.
the bathroom is small with a shower/toilet/washbasin. they supply an iron & a clothes drying rack. the tv works but not many english channels, no real concern there.
The double bed was very lumpy, this is my only criticism & our friends said the same about their bed. I wonder how old these mattresses are?
The pool areas were clean & sun beds are cleaned daily. The water was clean & there are 2 pools to choose from.
The meet & greet night hosted by the staff is held once a week & we were initially not going to attend but decided it was a good way to taste some tuscan fare & drink some more chianti. They told us it was a "wine tasting" but they layed out a buffet of very tasty tuscan treats. We mingled, tasted the wines & then sat down to tables, no seating arrangements, just casual dining. we sat with our neighbours, aussies with americans.....we had a fun night. I think this night is free for guest who are staying for a week. They do not have internet service but there is a cafe in town with one computer, they serve nice coffee too. We enjoyed our stay at Fattoria Pratale & would love to return one day....thanks to the staff for a very memorable holiday
PS.....mountain bikes not in use, probably should take them off the website

A friend told me that he had found this incredible place in Tuscany that was like something out of a story book...so I said sure you did...anyway when we ( 6 of us - 3 couples) decided to go to Italy my wife is Italian and her cousin (both the other couples are of Italian decent but born here in the States) I told them about my friends suggestion and so we all preceded to look on the internet at the website for Pratale..to make a long story short we eneded up booking directly with them and oh my God was that the very best thing we have done in a very long time. When we arrived we were amazed at the location and the facilities..it was like something out of a storybook. An oldtime looking Italian Villa set in the most beautiful country side of incredible vineyards. Nestled on a hillside half way between Florence and Sienna it couldnt be in a better place. The many small towns around the area provide plenty good restaurants to eat at and so many wineries to visit and the Itaian Chianti was amazing. The host were so helpful and the place was so clean and neat and they even furnished us with some of their own wine when we arrived. We stayed there two weeks and we couldnat have picked a better place to be with many trips to Florence an overnight excursion via train to Venice and a day trip to Piza. The people of this area are so amenable and friendly and a lot of them spoke english. Our trip was just the best ever and we will stay at Pratale when we return to Italy.

20 km from Florence and 40 Km from Siena this charming Tuscan getaway offers the best of both worlds. The views from the pools are out of a fairytale, in every direction vineyards and olive trees.
The rooms are simple in a traditional Tuscan style, very cool with stone walls. |
Small tables set up for eating by each apartment allow you to enjoy every second outide basking in the warm sun.
The bus comes very nearby and takes you in either direction to Siena or Florence, by the end of the day you will be dying to get back to the cool pools and stunning panoramic views.

Comfortable, inexpensive, relaxing and wonderfully located int eh heart of Tuscany.

You will need car to get to restaurants, or each apartment has a full kitchen.
