Very clean rooms, helpful and kind staff.
On the other hand, not good for people who cannot walk too far as is spead out too much.
Food much same every day not much in tasty cakes or fruit, must like burggers and chips, thousands of wasps when eating, could invest in insect lamp killer. only one bar open in main building with too much waiting for a drink, at dinner no cups, tea and coffee from machine tast crap.Lost dogs barking all night and about during the day.
For kids good holiday much to do but for old folks too much noise.
Would be better with a little effort from management, not 5 star would think 3 at most.
NO in room tea/coffee making as with most 5 star.

I'm glad I didn't pay too much heed of some of the reviews on the Gelina Village. Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children 12, 10, 8) have just returned and had a fantastic 2 weeks.
There was a daily activity programme for children and adults alike, with over 8 animators organising things like archery, table tennis, volleyball etc, whilst the shows in the evening were top notch. The kids club was attended by 2 or our children and they loved it, not to mention spending time with us in one of the swimming pools.
The animators were brilliant.
The food was also really good, with different themes every day whilst our family apartment had 2 bedrooms, and a kitchen/ family room. This was cleaned daily.
I would say the resort is a 4 star, certainly not 3 like some people suggest.
Overall for a family holiday in the sun, I would highly recommend the Gelina Village in Archaravi...

This Hotel is classed as 5* and could be with so little effort but in reality is only 3*. It has all the facilites but does not make the most of what it has. The rooms could be lovely but are tired and not cleaned properly. You get a bottle of soap on arrival and thats it no toiletries etc. Dirty towels would be taken away but on numerous occasions no clean ones brought back even after phoning reception. You get one beach towel when you arrive but you have to pay 1.5 euros every time you want a clean one. The restaurant was ok at weekends but sureing the week the queues were horrendous and the food would run out at 8.00pm! There was no other restaurant to eat in at dinner. The garderns were overgrown and messy. The paths in the waterpark were overgown with weeds and the flumes were in need of some work.
On a positive note the entertainment staff were out of this world and they made the holiday. There was somthing to do all day if you wanted but they didnt push it in your face, they worked ahrd all day and night. The shows were great and they are an amazing bunch of people.

Room Tip: Make sure you are in the Villa hotel and not moved to Gelina Mare

The Food was not good , the rooms are very basic , nothing 5 star about the hotel . The reception and dinning rooms without Air condion . The drinks are warm , no ice .
The Mosquitos will eat you alive . The only positives are The Sun , Sea ,Pools , and waterpark .
The staff are kind and nice .
It is vey hot place , no fun . Heat ,heat and more heat .

Arrived home yesterday after a week at Gelina. I would rate the hotel a 2 star as you got eaten alive by mosquitoes day/night. There were fleas in the bed the air con was blowing out hot air and so was the fridge! The rooms look like a bunker out of world war 1 and the pillows looked and felt like they had been filled with cotton wool balls. The food is repeated over and over for breakfast/lunch and dinner. The only good thing was the sun and the pool. Everyone looked miserable as none of the staff had been paid for three months and everyone was complaining about the rooms. They never had any English people there last year and im not bloody surprized either. Roda is full of old people playing bingo and sidari is like a run down youth club for kids. If you want to be EATEN ALIVE THEN THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!!!!

Room Tip: Ground floor is terrible.

Positives:
location; the hotel is situated close to the small city of Acharavi with charming bars, restaurants and boutiques.
Corfu island as such: we recommend to rent a car and make a trip around the island. Really beautiful.
Sandy beach, pool and big playground good for children
Rooms: spacy and cleaned every day except sunday
aquapark - but not available every day, only in "all inclusive days" so three days in a week
Negatives:
mosquitoes - perhaps the main reason why I would not recommend this hotel to anybody (mosquiteoes are not present only in this hotel but in the whole area around Acharavi), we used 3 types of repellent but were bited anyway.
Food: variety of food 3 times a day but nothing to eat before breakfast to lunch, from lunch to dinner just same cake and biscuits every day. Possible to have icecream but not included. The food was of average quality. Not tasty, we missed greek meels.
A lack of sun beds: only about 50 on the beach for 1000 guests.
Majority of Russian guests, ignore if you don´t mind their table behaviour
Services: we were told that they have a strong problem with missing staff which explains the availability of services (luggage delivery missing, queues in the restaurant waiting for tables etc.) Finally, the staff strike the last day of our stay made our leave easier. Goodbye and never see you again!

This establishment is most certainly NOT 5 star! We booked a 1 bed appartment for 7 nights via Easyjet Holidays. It was riddled with damp and mould. A rather pathetic attempt to hide the problem had been made by painting over it but it had not worked. There was a perpetual smell, it permeated all our clothes. We compained and were offered an alternative appartment, but it too suffered the same problem. We spoke to another English family on site and they too had the same issue.
The furniture was sparse, very basic and well worn. An interconnecting door was warped and would not close. The whole appartment needed refurbishment.
The telephone did not work. We reported it and it was fixed just before we left. There were no hangars for two thirds of the wardrobe space. On arrival there were no towels. We had to ask twice before they were provided.
The fridge door had been crudely hand painted over the rust.A low level panel was missing exposing considerable rust underneath. The TV was an old 12" box type. The bathroom was a decorative mess with a pitted chrome wash basin tap.

As mentioned we booked via EasyJet Holidays. We were told we would be met at Corfu airport by a representitive of Hellenic Services, who would be holding up a placard with our name on it. He/she would instruct us re our transfer to the hotel. No one met us.

On a more positive note, the staff were friendly, the common areas were nice and the food was good 2/3 star mass catering. There were plenty of swimming facilities , all were spotless.

We were glad to get home!

Room Tip: I doubt there is one.
