This review is for the taverna and beach only as I didn't stay in these apartments but I feel I needed to mention Stelios, Yarris (sorry for spelling) and the other staff at this wonderful gem of a tavern. I travelled as a single woman and was treat with the utmost respect by everybody here and had a great night dancing and drinking Raki with the locals. I had the best pork gyros pitta wrap ever there too. Stelios works very hard and always remained smiling and professional. Miss you all after my wonderful time spent in your company. Thank you x

We stayed here for 5 nights. The apartment was very clean and was comfortable and spacious. We had a balcony overlooking the sea. The apartments have direct access onto the sandy beach, with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas available at no charge as long as you buy a drink from the tavern.
The main road is about 200 yards from the apartments with shops and restaurants, and a bus stop with frequent buses to Heraklion and the airport.
The Troulis tavern is attached to the apartments, we are there a couple of times and the food was very good and reasonably priced.
Maria the owner was very helpful. We had regular e mail contact with her and she helped us to organise transport from the port. Would definitely recommend.

Cannot fault the hospitality of Aris and Stelios at the Golden Beach. We were greeted with a smile and kindness every time we came to visit. Best part of the beach at Amoudara, you must go! Food and drinks delicious and cannot emphasise enough the impeccable service!

When I go to Europe each year, I always meet the friendliest people. But the Cretans are the best! Especially at the Troulis Apartments. Not only is it a fantastic value, but the employees and management just can't do enough for you. They also have a private beach with lounge chairs, umbrellas, and wind screens. All of it is included in the very low price you pay for your spacious studio apartment. If you'd like to include a wonderful buffet breakfast of cereal, eggs, sausages/bacon, meats and cheeses, fresh breads, yogurt and more for just 5 Euros, you can eat it right on the beach. What I like second-most about Troulis is how honest everyone is. I accidentally left something on a table on the beach patio. 4 hours later it was still there, untouched. If you like watersports you can indulge right next door. The parasailing was really fun. Crete is the best kept secret from Americans. Can't wait to go back next year!

Room tip: Cover the bathroom drain with the bathmat to keep the mosquitos out.
