We spent 5 days in this "All Inclusive" resort. It was a real treat. Details starting from best: The staff is superb. Kind, helpful attentive and efficient. This includes ALL branches: Reception, housekeeping, bar tending and restaurants. Perfect. Our room was beautiful, bathroom comfortable, viewing the garden and sea behind from a large Balcony. The food was good. Of course in an "Industrial" setup like "all inclusive" one cannot expect real gourmet food, but bearing this in mind, and with the large choice, we enjoyed all our meals. We used the special A - La-Cart Taverna of the hotel (Requires reservation) for two dinners, Excellent: I enjoyed ther maybe the best lamb chops I have ever had.

The Wi-Fi was one of the best we expereienced in a hotel.

We recommend Apollonia Beach to all our friends, and will certainly come again.

We have just returned from a weeks stay with our four children aged 18, 14, 12 and 9. The hotel is lovely both inside and out. Even though it was the first week in the season we didn't want for anything. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Some hotels we've visited before we felt like some of the staff let it down with poor attitudes but I can genuinely say everybody we came into contact with here was great. From our first point of call with the helpful man in reception when we arrived late, arranging food for us and the children, and then organising a late check out when we left due to a late flight home, to all the restaurant staff who work super hard keeping the tables clear and always have a smile. The bar staff in the lobby bar and pool bar who were always friendly and the service was fab, even remembering what our drinks order was!! ( not easy with a family of six!! )
A big shout out to Tom and the animation team. We met Tom on our first day and he was friendly and genuine without being pushy. We never normally participate in any entertainment but can honestly say due to Toms lovely personality and good nature we found ourselves joining in every day. ( with our eldest even winning Mr Apollonia! )
A big pet hate for us on holiday are pushy people dragging you off to do things you might not want to. We never once felt like this with Tom, and the kids looked forward to seeing him everyday for some fun and games. He is a credit to the hotel along with all the other hotel staff!
Overall we have had an amazing holiday and would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel offers all you need.
We were here for a short business trip. Friendly staff, quite good quality of food.
Airport and City Center from Heraklion is nearby.
Think about to be here with my family for summer holidays.

So nice, pretty, cosy, on the beach. Enjoy your holiday , it is the best of all in Amoudara. Enjoy the beach and the sea. You can spend the most beautifull period in the summer. It has a good connection with Heraklio and it makes a holiday wonderful.

We do at least 2 vacations per year. This is our third this year and we were at the Apollonia for 12 days and leaving today. For the all-inclusive price we paid, we would not visit again. Here is some of the good and bad from my opinion:
Good
1. Most of the service staff are really great and desire to make your stay wonderful. The ladies taking care of the rooms do a great job and were tipped good for their hard work every day. The folks in the restaraunts are working hard too and most are serving customers with a smile.
2. Most of the food served was very good. Every day we were offered traditional dishes as well as "regular" food. Their fish and lamb dishes are fantastic (except the tuna steaks which was dry and very foul tasting). Plenty of food to eat throughout the day from one of 4 restaraunts.
3. Location on a sandy beach is very good. Beach is private and definitely has sand (too many other places don't have sandy beaches or you have to walk 15 minutes to get there). The beach is at the backdoor and there is the cafe with a bar there too.
Bad
1. Too expensive for what it is. Should have done another cruise instead.
2. Beds are absolute worst I've ever slept on! By day 5 every joint in my body hurt. Maybe it has to do with my next point....
3. The Health Spa staff are like vultures! They have a booth set up at various locations and are always trying to get you to buy one of their overpriced massages or spa treatments. Their ad card does not have prices so if there is something you are interested in, you have to ask them and then it's like dealing with a Used Car Salesman......it's on and on and on! I like getting massages but not for the 100 euro plus packages they try to push!
4. The alcohol offered with the all-inclusive package is all non-name brands to include whatever the beers was the offered. The glasses the beer was served in said Beck's but it was the worst I ever tasted. I didn't drink the beer until I eventually bought the bottled Mytho's beer they sold for 3 euros a bottle (yes, Mytho's is the local beer here and is good...can't understand why it was not part of the all inclusive package).
5. There were at least 3 times that there were not enough seats for the guests wanting to eat so folks stood in a line or were told to come back later at the main restaraunts. I would have thought they would know how many folks would be eating and have a plan....instead it seemed like everything was reactionary....this is their business and I would think they would have good control of it. At one of the breakfast we couldn't get a seat until 15 minute before their regular closing time. By the time We got our coffee and went to get some fried eggs at the grill area, the cook just looked up and said, "sorry, we close at 10". I would have thought they knew what was going on and would have extended grill time but oh well.
6. The front counter often only had 1 person at the counter and when they were busy, you could tell the staff member was stressed out and short with customers. Even when we checked out, there were only 2 working and lines were backed up.....there was no goal of giving excellent customer service....just move along.
7. This was like a kick in the teeth.....we spent over 3000 euros for this stay....it just shocked me that their luggage scale they have at the counter costs 1 euro for each piece of luggage you want to weigh. Come on......this should be a perk, not a way to pull another coin bit from my pocket!
These are the major points I can think of and of course my own opinion. Not sure how they were rated 5 stars but it definitely is not in my book.

Room tip: Bring your own mattress!
