I am a food lover and the one thing I dislike about going on holiday is the fear of the quality of the food- in fact I usually go vegetarian for fear of crap meat abroad! I was staying across the road at the candia maris - after checking in very late and discovering that our hotel restaurant had closed up for the night, we ventured cautiously over the road to this indoor/outdoor eatery. We had asked the hotel staff if it was any good but they had no clue which raised our cautions!
However we arrived, met by the owner - a gentleman who greeted us happily very late at night and we proceeded to view the massive menu - in english and with pictures just incase you are unsure. We ordered the grilled feta, the cheese balls, mussels, prawns and aubergine dip (a must!!!) and we were not disappointed in the slightest! the food was fresh, well seasoned and for what we ordered as greek tapas - hit every spot imaginable!!!
we proceeded to visit after failed visits to other restaurants recommended by this very site and ordered different mains - the chateaubriand a must!! the deserts also particularly fantastic and another surprise - the greek wine served is actually well matched to this fresh food!
I recommend this venue over any other visited in amoudara - enjoy! however dont expect a view - this restaurant is on the main road
