“Magnificent Views, Sparkling Service”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

After planning to stop here for one day to visit Diocletian's Palace and see the contrasts with Zagreb, we decided to extend our stay and revel in the hotel, its astonishingly equipped spa and dazzling array of food!

Perhaps being along the coastline helped, but the grilled octopus could not have been better and every dish we enjoyed had been crafted with care.

Views of the Adriatic from our balcony, spotlessly clean room and public spaces - and staff members who appeared genuinely pleased to host us!

This hotel is way worth a detour from your plans...!

Dear jesorrell2,

Thank you so much for taking time to write your review and for your words of praise.

Being along the coastline really does help to get the best and freshest of our local produce to your table. Our Pivnica chef Ivanka really does make the excellent octopus salad.

Hopefully see you back in Croatia soon!

Best Regards,
Igor Novakovic

My husband and I spent a week at Le Meridien Lav. We could not have made a better choice, the resort is beautiful, the service was excellent; staff was friendly, the location stunning.

We also had a great time on our guided tour of Split-Trogir- Omis. Our guide, Mario was willing to personalize the tour based on our individual interests. Also, he was friendly and helpful in answering all of our questions, he packed an amazing amount of information into the daytrip.

I would HIGHLY recommend the hotel and their guided tours as well.

On the whole this is a nice hotel and we had a nice stay here, but found the service was below 5 star and a few improvements could be made, especially as its not cheap.

We arrived in the morning and dropped our luggage and were told our room would be ready at usual check-in time (2pm) which was fine, but when we returned at 2:10pm we were told the guests were late checking out and it wasn't ready. We had to wait another hour before it was ready. Many of the services - wifi, shuttle to split, pool etc are dependent on being checked in - so late check-ins should not be happening. We did ask if another room was available and were taken to one that was tiny and on a low level facing a row of yachts in the marina - it felt cramped & lacking in privacy so we opted to wait for the other room to become available which was far bigger, nicer and had a beautiful view.

Also the couches in reception are stained and the spa needs an update, there was broken tiles and cracked glass doors and steam rooms which weren't functioning and seemed very unclean.

To summarise - fine for a short stay - and I hope the manager addresses these areas of concern.

Dear pamelajaneabroad,

Thank you for taking time to write your review.

I am glad to read that on the whole you found us to be a nice hotel. Please accept our apologies for your checkout taking a little longer than expected. I am glad to find out that my associates did try to accommodate you by giving you a choice of another room.

Thank you for your suggestions for improvement - our management team is reading each and every review in our morning meetings and we discuss areas for improvement.

Thank you and hopefully see you back in Dalmatia soon.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel at the end of August 2013. We choose this hotel in spite of some negative reviews here, and I'm glad we did! When we travel, we appreciate hotels that offer good service, nice restaurants, clean area and nice rooms, with a hint of luxury as well. This is exactly what Le Meridien Lav offered to us. The minute we checked in we felt us warmly welcome. What we were really happy for was that we got our room immediately after we arrived at the hotel although it was only 9:30 am.

We had a superior room with a sea view and were really happy with it. The only negative thing was that the walls are quite thin so the quality of our sleep wasn't that good in the first nights.

We really enjoyed the pool area of this hotel. It wasn't crowded at all (end of August), as some reviewers claimed, so we could find sunbeds easily for ourselves every day. The restaurants in the hotel are okay, but somewhat high priced in comparison with the price level in Croatia.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!

Daer Anna M,

Thank you for taking time to write your review and for your kind words of praise.

Come end of August and the main season is over due to start of school in most countries so you get amazing weather and warm seas combined with more quiet beaches, pool areas and city centre. Lots of our guests love the busy high season buzz in July and August but there is also a growing number of people who appreciate the September and October or May June months as well.

Thank you and hopefully see you back soon.

Best Regards,
Igor Novakovic

This modern gem located on the outskirts of Split's ancient city center is as posh as any Riviera resort. The yachts parked outside, the tennis courts, pool, the magnificent waterfront added to a sense of hip, European chic. Total juxtaposition from the downtown docks of Split. No hustle-bustle here! Rooms were sleek with balconies overlooking the water. Upstairs gym overlooked an immense indoor pool for those inclement days or nighttime dips.

This is a high-end hotel with great views of the Adriatic. A short local bus ride or taxi will take you into Split, an ancient walled Roman city. The service and food are very good, with outdoor pool overlooking the sea. Rooms are excellent with balconies overlooking the water.

Room Tip: ask for sea view room

The hotel is large, and at first I had problems finding my way. The reception had actually given me a map, but it looked like a coupon of some sort, so I didn't notice :-) The room was delicate, well equipped and in exquisit style. Magnificent view of the ocean from balcony. Quiet. Good bed. Good, clean AC. The pools are good,, but the pebble beach is not really much. The hotel is south of Split, and the area around don't have much to offer. The hotel has a shuttle service to Split, but there also run regular buses 2x hour just up on the main road. I liked this place, and I would book it again.

Dear sturle,

Thank you for taking time to write your review.

I am really pleased to see that you have enjoyed your stay and loved the room decor which comes with a great view. Our shuttle service combined with regular bus service to Split makes it easy and convenient to get to town at any time of day or evening. Those who wish for more mobility opt for rent a car service which is located in the hotel grounds.

Thank you and hopefully see you back soon.
