Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel at the end of August 2013. We choose this hotel in spite of some negative reviews here, and I'm glad we did! When we travel, we appreciate hotels that offer good service, nice restaurants, clean area and nice rooms, with a hint of luxury as well. This is exactly what Le Meridien Lav offered to us. The minute we checked in we felt us warmly welcome. What we were really happy for was that we got our room immediately after we arrived at the hotel although it was only 9:30 am.

We had a superior room with a sea view and were really happy with it. The only negative thing was that the walls are quite thin so the quality of our sleep wasn't that good in the first nights.

We really enjoyed the pool area of this hotel. It wasn't crowded at all (end of August), as some reviewers claimed, so we could find sunbeds easily for ourselves every day. The restaurants in the hotel are okay, but somewhat high priced in comparison with the price level in Croatia.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!

Daer Anna M,

Thank you for taking time to write your review and for your kind words of praise.

Come end of August and the main season is over due to start of school in most countries so you get amazing weather and warm seas combined with more quiet beaches, pool areas and city centre. Lots of our guests love the busy high season buzz in July and August but there is also a growing number of people who appreciate the September and October or May June months as well.

Thank you and hopefully see you back soon.

Best Regards,
Igor Novakovic

This modern gem located on the outskirts of Split's ancient city center is as posh as any Riviera resort. The yachts parked outside, the tennis courts, pool, the magnificent waterfront added to a sense of hip, European chic. Total juxtaposition from the downtown docks of Split. No hustle-bustle here! Rooms were sleek with balconies overlooking the water. Upstairs gym overlooked an immense indoor pool for those inclement days or nighttime dips.

This is a high-end hotel with great views of the Adriatic. A short local bus ride or taxi will take you into Split, an ancient walled Roman city. The service and food are very good, with outdoor pool overlooking the sea. Rooms are excellent with balconies overlooking the water.

Room Tip: ask for sea view room

The hotel is large, and at first I had problems finding my way. The reception had actually given me a map, but it looked like a coupon of some sort, so I didn't notice :-) The room was delicate, well equipped and in exquisit style. Magnificent view of the ocean from balcony. Quiet. Good bed. Good, clean AC. The pools are good,, but the pebble beach is not really much. The hotel is south of Split, and the area around don't have much to offer. The hotel has a shuttle service to Split, but there also run regular buses 2x hour just up on the main road. I liked this place, and I would book it again.

Dear sturle,

Thank you for taking time to write your review.

I am really pleased to see that you have enjoyed your stay and loved the room decor which comes with a great view. Our shuttle service combined with regular bus service to Split makes it easy and convenient to get to town at any time of day or evening. Those who wish for more mobility opt for rent a car service which is located in the hotel grounds.

Thank you and hopefully see you back soon.

Enjoyed a week at the Meridien Lav in mid August 2013. Nice clean room, not the biggest, but served it purpose. Located a 20 minutes bus ride from Split centre, there is a shuttle bus running every hour from the hotel (20 kuna). Internet both cabled and wifi in the room. Great pool area with spa and indoor/outdoor pool. Pebble beach. Everything well kept and clean. Good assortment of restaurants located in/at the hotel, both for luch and dinner. All in all, a very nice stay, would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: Seaview is available, would think these are the quietest. There is a road nearby on the backside, ro...

We had a fantastic good week at the hotel. Great service in the hotel and spa. The beach was nice, but we think the hotel could make more revenue by telling the beach staff to be more preset for the guest.
We had lunch every day in the 7 palms restaurant (and dinner one night) the sea food there is highly recommended. (Say hello the the beautiful friendly law student that took care of us, and the highly skillful wine waiter)
As a routine, we had a night cap in the champagne bar every evening before going to bed. Was a little disturbed by the lack of attention to details there from the staff. We counted seven trays full of dirty glasses standing for about an hour on the bar counter. suggest you tell the barman to make sure the counter is tidy at all times.
Breakfast was excellent - but be prepared to stay in line if you arrive on peak hours. .
The restaurants around the marina are good, but overpriced for some items (these do not belong to the hotel).
The room we got was superb. Looking over the sea and the pool/beach. Friendly housekeeping as well.
I would recommend this hotel. Apart from what others may say, it is worth it's five stars.

This was by far the best place we could find to stay in Split, Croatia. It's a bit outside the town, so you have to cab to the palace and the old part of town. But its a 5 minute cab ride, and in this case, I'd rather stay outside of town in a nice place. All the place in the center of town seemed tired and rundown. Le Meridien was 5 start from start to finish, from the room, our stunning view of the sea, our terrace, the service, the concierge, the pool, the beach, the marina, the shopping. All of it. The food was good, not great. I'd say the food was a 4 out of 5, but it was good, but not as great as the rest of the place. There is plenty to do on site at the resort, and cabbing into the center of town was perfectly fine by us, in trade to stay at this beautiful property.
