Small hotel with just 40 spacious rooms, with kettle and tea coffee facilities and minibar/fridge. It's all quite new and spotless. The staff are very professional and well trained and most helpful. As it's a small hotel they get to know you.
It's on the beach which is stony but the water is very clear. The beach has been topped up with gravel, there is no sand, but good sun beds are available to rent for the day ( but get in early as they tend to get occupied). Good snorkelling and swimming. Beach front is public access so you can walk for a few miles down the coast and stop at one of many bars for refreshment.
The beach side restaurant is fine pizzas and upward, and the roof top sunset bar restaurant does very good food if a little pricey. There are 2 bar / restaurants next door but nearest is down market and Life's a beach is v good too. For cheap but authentic local food try Fabios pizzas 400m south on the main road.
There were some very local wildfires during our stay but staff were very reassuring and accurate in their advice.

Friendly staff in general and reception staff were very helpful which was useful as the Tour Operator (Completely Travel) didn't inform us that they would have no rep visits there as they did do when we visited Dubrovnik via them 3 years ago. That said, after a relatively long morning (awake since 2.30 a.m.) we perhaps didn't take in all that we were told when we checked in - consequently having looked at the Information in the bedroom the following morning and trying to find the restaurant on Floor -1 which was indicated in the Hotel Booklet we could not find it and going back to reception we were informed (quite firmly) that it was on -4. Interestingly, the restaurant on -1 was also showing on the Fire Evacuation sheet on the back of our room door. I'm sure this could be a Health & Safety issue?
Our first breakfast visit was a little confused and no staff took any initial interest in advising us about the Tea & Coffee making machines. As a result and having waited several minutes for what we thought was a hot water source my wife managed to get Coffee poured into her Tea Pot (with tea bag within). We did then get some staff assistance. Breakfast is O.K. but cannot say that we are big fans of warmed omelettes and other warmed foods - great if you happen to get there when just filled, but a little disappointing given the cost of staying there. Rest of the breakfast food was good, albeit sometimes things ran out, but were replaced relatively quickly. The Smoothies and Yoghurt drinks provided were excellent, but were available from 8.30'ish onwards and yet breakfast was served from 7.30?
Our room was decent, albeit some stains on the carpet - bathroom fittings were of good quality although a little leakage from the shower at times. Sometimes we were left with 2 biscuits, sometimes 1 and sometimes none. The Balcony was great in the morning and evening but really hot during the day and they really should have a canopy to provide some shade as the view from the room was brilliant. Not sure about the Hot Tubs on the Terraces on level -3 - many were not in use and cannot say that they are attractive when viewed from above.
The meal that we had on the Terrace (Pool Level) was excellent and it seems a pity that other meals couldn't be served up there as we didn't really want to eat in the same place that we had breakfast. Bar opening times for the Terrace seem a bit hit and miss and one day we ended up using 2 bottles of water from our Mini Bar as no one was available - at around £7.50 for the two that we had to fetch ourselves it is a bit steep. We also had 1 flat Prosecco from the Bar Terrace and another one from the downstairs Bar.
The trip we had to Krka which was organised by the Hotel was very good and the young lady driver was excellent and interesting.
Whilst very little traffic noise from the very busy road outside the Hotel, it is not that easy to cross and even when using a Zebra Crossing further down the road it can be hit and miss as to whether cars will stop! Although reception did tell us which bus to catch into Split, we didn't realise that there were 2 Bus Operators and they do not accept each others tickets. Best thing is to buy on the bus, rather than in the Kiosk in Split! Busy buses and they do take a while to get into Town as the traffic is heavy. Worthwhile taking a trip to Trogir (close to the airport) and relatively easy by bus (change at main Split bus Station). When we went to Krka, we stopped briefly at Sibenik and that too is worth a visit - there is a nice Cafe set in a beautiful garden. Just a pity we didn't have more time.
Location of the Hotel is good and there are 2 Bars very close (on the beach) - we used Life's a Beach most days and the food was good. The Chicken Wings are excellent. The other alternative is to head the other way towards the Le Meridien complex where there are several bars and restaurants all with varying styles and prices.
All in all we had a nice relaxing break and the Hotel is not that far away from being excellent - it just needs a few tweaks and attention to detail. We found the Pool area ideal for us and the large shaded sofa type beds were spot on - we had no real use for the sun beds on the Beach. Whilst only venturing into the sea once we did find it a bit of a struggle as the shingle tends to move and sink with you when you are at the edge - once in it was fine. Thanks to all the staff and Management for looking after us whilst we were there - our rooftop meal memory will be with us for a long time.

Dear Michael,
thank you very much for your detailed review. It is always very helpful to get such constructive reviews from our guests, because ti helps us improve our weaker spots and tweak the good ones.
Thanks for the information about breakfast on -1, it will be changed so that no one else finds it confusing.
More improvement in standardization of the breakfast and room service are on its way, but overall we are glad you saw that the breakfast staff responds quickly and replaces the food.
We are glad that our staff had taken such good care of you and your daily trips, and we hope to see you again.
Kind regards,
Hotel Split

The good: the beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet. Slept well here. The rooftop restaurant, although expensive, is good. Split is near. Had good day trips.

The bad: breakfast average to poor. Ran out of coffee, juice, cereal, fruit routinely. Staff rude and unhelpful, especially breakfast staff.

Rooms not cleaned properly. Never removed dirty cups or replenished tea, coffee supplies, I ended up taking cups and tea from breakfast buffet. Tiny gym with broken equipment. Rooftop pool has no shelter, so hardly anyone goes there. Rooftop has next to no staff, so don't expect to get a drink. No bar in hotel, so mini bar is essential. Broken jacuzzi. Sun beds too expensive to hire. Staff generally unhelpful. Teenagers were bored. Hotel is quiet to point of no atmosphere.

I don't understand why this hotel has good reviews. I'm not that fussy, but standards need reviewing here. I've never left a poor review before, but sometimes things need mentioning. Be aware.

Room Tip: Choose a terrace room with jacuzzi.

Me and a friend had a very relaxing stay at the hotel, during easter which is off season. The personel is very helpful and nice. The room is very nice and clean. The view is abseloutely amazing - and sitting on your terrace in the evening whatching the sunset is great:-) The restaurant is really good, breakfast is fine - but the menu and courses during lunch and dinner is even better. Personally I think their new restuarant would need a bit more cozy inside, but it is really nice sitting outside on the terrace. not much is going on around - or it wasnt at least during easter - so you kind of felt liek you were alone in the hotel - so it was all really nice and relaxing. The roof-top pool wa unfortunately not open when we were there, but im sure that will be a great contribution to the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel from 5th to 20th June and enjoyed every minute. The staff at the Hotel are exceptional. From the moment we walked in Tonci on reception greeted us and helped us throughout our stay with various questions etc. The staff are an absolute credit to this hotel. They have an amazing Chef and if you are staying make sure you try the taster menu on the roof terrace it is incredible! The service we had off Simon was outstanding with the view, scenery, food, absolutely fantastic. We loved this hotel as it is spotlessly clean and loved the location as you can get a bus just down the road for Split one way or Omis the other. The hotels offers great excursions we did the Krka Waterfalls and it was great really enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again it is peaceful but with exceptional detail to customer service. The breakfast is a joy with so much to choose from. We will definitely be back. Also, thank you to Anita on reception for helping to make my husband's birthday so special. The views from the rooms are outstanding breathtaking .
