I'm sure they've changed the large roast dinner items? Used to be that there was cauliflower cheese with large roast, all you'll get now is an extra yorkie and a few roast spuds. Staff were very helpful and order was delivered quickly. Food overall was ok. Would have loved one of the guest beers (or 3!) but sadly was driving! Cleaner than the Ponty Wetherspoons too. Overall good beer and cheap to eat so will go again. As per other multiple visit reviews some places very hit or miss y'know?

Went for a curry on a Thursday night with some workmates, the boss was paying and I expect that's why we ended up here - cheap!!!

To be honest the food was quite good although I'd rather pay a bit more and have more than three chunks of lamb in my dish of rogan josh sauce but it was cooked well and came with plenty of rice, poppadoms and a naan.

As it was a hot day I fancied a cider and was happy to see Thatchers Gold on tap - although what came out of the pump didn't taste like Thatchers Gold, well, if you imagine a pint that had been sat in a glass in a mouldy cellar for a couple of days and then re-carbonated there was some resemblance I suppose.

There didn't seem to be enough staff and tables were piled with empty glasses and plates to the point that there was nowhere to put your drink down, not the fault of the few staff that were working of course, they only have two hands after all and it was very busy even at 6.30 in the evening, more of a management failing here I would say as despite being overwhelmed with customers and trying to serve both drinks at the bar and meals at the tables the staff were personable and as efficient as they could be under the circumstances.

Would I drink here again - not the cider.

Would I eat here again - possibly but not the special offer fare, I'd order from the menu.

My family (16 of us) visited this last bank holiday. They can't really cope fully with large numbers as we found out. Although this is somewhat understandable there's no excuse for attitude from a serving girl! The meals are always a good deal of course but today the scampi was overcooked, actually more dark brown than golden and a portion of tartare sauce was no such thing in my book, it was a small vessel anyway but contained i reckon the smallest teaspoon of sauce. The manager was helpful/apologetic and some of us had free desserts but what one expects is a satisfying meal all round and on Monday it simply wasn't the case. On the plus side it's much cleaner than it's sister place in Pontypridd. Is it still worth a visit, yes, it is. Car park across the road, ideal position just on edge of town there.

We had visited this pub before and as usual with a Wetherspoons pub found the main meals to be of excellent quality and value. On this occasion we tried the breakfast menu. We chose the 'traditional breakfast' and found this also to be first class. Service was very good and staff were friendly polite and helpful. We have no hesitation in recommending and will definitely visit again.

Now look its a Weatherspoons Pub and you get average quality food at a great price.

Its not a michelin restaurant but it never claims to be and the prices you pay are better than most good quality pub grub. The drinks are well priced and the food is well priced and the place is almost allways full so that tells the whole story.

For average quality food at a price that won't break the bank and if you have had a quick run around the shops of Aberdare what better place to stop than here for a breather and bite to eat.
