Stayed here for the W trek, organized through Adventure Life. Overall, the facility was top notch as well as the food and the guides. The price may be high compared to other trips - however, you won't be disappointed with the accommodations.

I had the standard dome; my companion had the upgraded suite.

First, my dome. It had enough space (was by myself but easily could fit 2) - sufficient to use to sleep. Bathroom and showers were a short walk away. Only issue was the door did not seal properly - used a towel to minimize the opening between the door and the frame. My companion's suite was extremely nice - with its built in bathroom and shower, and large walkable space, I was envious. Highly recommend if you are a high maintenance traveler.

With any guided trekking options, what makes or breaks a trip is the attention and enthusiasm given by the guides. Our guides - Rodrigo and Claudio - were exceptional and we were extremely glad to have had them during the trip. They were entertaining, explained everything, helped all of us out with little things here and there. If you happen to get them - I guarantee your trip will be memorable and excellent.

Note - I have done other treks (Mt. Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp, Machu Picchu) - each has its own flavor and characteristics and level of comfort. The W Trek through EcoCamp is on par with other great experiences I've had with other trips.

Room tip: Suites are larger and have its own bathroom and shower

Hola,

Thanks for your positive comments - We are delighted to hear you had a fantastic trek and stay with us. We have been working hard these past few years to offer the most memorable experience both on the trails and inside the domes, and all hikers know food is sacred! As for the dome, we are pleased to know you enjoyed the Standard Dome and passed on your comments about the sealing of the door to our maintenance team. Both our Welcome Dome and maintenance team are always available at EcoCamp to immediately solve these small issues. We hope to have you again soon!

Best,
Timothy

It has been over two weeks, and I’m still reliving the amazing experience of our 7-day Wtrek at Ecocamp Patagonia, organised by Cascada Travels.

Ecocamp itself is a great experience, such an ideal place to round up our trekking adventure, in the most satisfying way. What a great way to chill out with trekking mates and guides at the end of a gruelling 10 hrs hike, with welcome glass of pisco sour each night, followed by creatively designed 3 course dinner cuisine. I stayed in the superior dome, which offered great ambience, comfortable heating, streaming hot water and most comfortable beddings. All the staff from dining to front desk to maintenance were super friendly, and went out of their way to ensure our needs were met.

But I have to give tons of credit to our two superb guides Felipe Sunkel and Pablo Mas, for realising and enriching our amazing trekking experience in Patagonia.

Felipe, the lead guide, is always confident, and his jovial attitude just brings up the team’s can do spirit, and gives us the confidence we can make it as a team of 7 of varied trekking experience on the Wtrek, especially to Torres Del Paine. We met with hikers who commented that we have a very experienced guide in Felipe, and that we totally agree.

Pablo Mas, another excellent guide, touched out hearts with his genuine care & concern for the group, ensuring we have proper understanding of the usage of poles, equipments etc, sharing his enthusiasm on the plants, flowers and animals we see on the trek, complementing Felipe’s geology knowledge on the terrain. Truly appreciated his measured steps up and down the difficult part of the slopes for us to follow, and constant check back to ensure we are doing ok.

Together, Felipe & Pablo’s genuine interest in our team, our culture (coming from Singapore), their sharing of their experiences and joy in trekking, simply made the whole trekking adventure a much richer, rewarding and really fun experience for all of us.

The amazing sceneries speak for itself! Truly truly awesome place to go and visit.

My husband and I came to Ecocamp for 6 nights as part of our honeymoon. We wanted to visit the park and feel close to nature but with more comfort than traditional camping and this is exactly what we got. We had an absolutely amazing time staying in the suite dome (which comes with a private bathroom, which was something we definitely wanted) and taking excursions into the park each day. We did the Towers Base trek, Grey Glacier boat ride, French Valley, Cerro Paine, and a day of kayaking on the Grey River. Everything was very well organized and the Ecocamp guides were awesome. Each day was incredible and we felt like we really got a good feel for the park with so many amazing views (we even say a puma one day)! We very much enjoyed the group dinners each night and had fun recounting each day with the group and guide over delicious meals. Ecocamp is really a special place and we left happy and exhausted (in the best kind of way)!

Room tip: If you can afford it, splurge for the suites domes with more space, wood stoves, private baths, and some of the best views

EcoCamp is blessed with a fantastic location that is perfect to explore some of the world's most beautiful wild places while having a great time getting to know fellow travelers in our Community Domes. We decided to splurge on the all inclusive stay at Ecocamp and sadly we we very disappointed. If you are able to book this place for $400-600 USD/night that is what it's worth. We were charged nearly $1800 a night which is outrageous for what you get. The bed in our dome was small and lumpy, not comfortable. The bathroom/composting toilet is gross - smells and never seems clean. Towels and linens were rough and scratchy. We were charged for drinks we had in the bar, and when we asked for beer during dinner we were told no (they only serve wine in the dinner dome, no exceptions). For $1800/night we did not like being told NO. Also, they are very pushy about the group experience. They tell you where to sit for dinner and who you can eat with. We returned from a very long day of hiking and were told to be at dinner in 20 minutes. They kept trying to clear our plates and rush us through dinner which was awkward. The whole thing felt like adult camp, without great service or options. For that much money we expected a more luxurious, customer-focused experience. Alternatively, we LOVED our stay at Lago Gray about an hour away. Rooms MUCH more comfortable, it is truly all inclusive, beautiful bathrooms (heated floors), amazing beds and fantastic experience. Ecocamp just did NOT live up to the hype for us and seemed like an exorbitant amount of money for what you get. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID or try to lock it down for $400/night.

Hola,

Thanks for your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience at EcoCamp and passed on your comments to the appropriate staff members. The highest price for an overnight stay at EcoCamp is much lower than $1800 - You may refer to the price of a program that is "Full Board" basis and includes guided excursions, meals. transportation to/from/inside Torres del Paine National Park, etc. EcoCamp offers no "All Inclusive" stay which is something that is informed to every client from the beginning.
Also, while wine in included with dinner, beers can be bought in our Bar Dome (and consumed over dinner without any problem). Over the years we gained international recognition for the alternative hotel we are, mixing a serious commitment to sustainability with high quality service and a unique spirit of community. It means the service inside the community domes (restaurant) is very different to the one you can find in traditional hotels. For instance the groups have dinner together with their guide, which is something that has been incredibly well-received by our clients for the past 18 years. EcoCamp is not a luxury hotel, but we offer a life-changing experience to travelers with high quality service that includes gourmet food and comfortable domes. We clean the shared bathroom at least twice a day and because we work with composting toilets, we make sure there is not bad smell (we even have a system an air cleaning system powered with solar panels to avoid bad smells). In case any bad smell is reported, our housekeeping/maintenance staff is always available to solve the issue within a few minutes.
We sincerely regret to hear EcoCamp was not your kind of hotel and hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Patagonia!

Best,
Timothy

I highly recommend EcoCamp! My husband and I did the Epic Package and it lived up to the name. This package includes hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and kayaking. All of these were challenging, fun, and provided amazing views of the park.

Be prepared for all weather conditions, we experienced it all!

EcoCamp itself was very impressive. Sustainable, amazing food, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff and guides, and comfortable accommodations. Being disconnected from WiFi for the week was a treat!

One of the highlights was the complementary yoga offered nightly in the yoga dome. This was a perfect way to wind down after intense activities.
