The camp was a lovely place to stay. The food was great most of the time. The service could be improved a bit as it is mainly run by twenty something's and could benefit with senior management ensuring standards are kept up to scratch. Messy toilets and lack of available food for boxed lunches were among a few things that could be improved.

If booking a 7 day hike with cascada adventure it is worth knowing that the average age of people on these tours are between 50-60s and the guides pace is too cater to the slower hikers. If you are young and fit I would book elsewhere.

Many thanks for your feedback. Great to hear you found the camp a lovely place to stay and enjoyed the food. We will pass on your comments about the service - we are always working to make improvements.
The age of the hikers depends on the group you happen to have booked with, sometimes we have groups full of 20 and 30-somethings. We hope you will look back on your trip with fond memories and wish you all the best for the future.
Saludos,
Gabriela

I don't know if I can say more than the title. I expected very little of this place thinking it would be a glorified hostel. Boy was I wrong. We had a superior dome for the first night with a private bathroom and a gas heater. It was lovely but the smell of the composting toilet was a little bit off putting. We then moved to a standard dome with shared bathroom for the remaining 3 nights. The standard domes are much smaller, have no heating and a shared bathroom. But I preferred the cosy feel of the standard dome. The shared bathrooms were large and clean. The food was excellent and the staff were amazing. And the scenery! Simply outstanding.

So it's not cheap. And before you arrive you wonder, is it worth the money? But yes it is! Wow! Such impressive vision and design, proving you can care about the environment and still create beauty and comfort. And fabulous food and wine every night and helpful staff every night - it will be tough camping "normally" again. And what amazing natural scenery all around, stunning.

We recently spent four nights stay at the Ecocamp as part of an 11 day southern Patagonia trip. Our only regret was that the Ecocamp was early in our trip, because it would have been a wonderful place to end the experience. The domes are spacious, cosy, tastefully decorated. The meals were original, delicious, and presented well. The best part was the staff, who were excellent guides, wonderful hosts, and extremely knowledgeable about the workings of the camp and the local flora and fauna.

We spent 3 nights here in a suite dome. What a great experience! I went and back and forth as to whether to spend the extra money for the heat and in dome bathroom in the suite dome and am very glad I did as it cool and damp at times. The activities were as described, well planned and the guides were really great. We especially enjoyed the communal meals and met people from all over the world. Highly recommended!

We stayed at Ecocamp as part of our 7 day W trek. As some previous reviewers have said, Ecocamp really is a special experience. We were in one of the non-heated domes but found it incredibly cozy and surprisingly warm. The bathrooms/showers were really nice...having a steaming hot shower after a long cold wet hike felt really good. The food overall was quite good...I especially liked breakfast and dinner. For lunch they put out sandwich makings that you can take with you for the day which was okay overall, but as a vegetarian the choices were somewhat limited. The staff was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. In particular our guides on the W trek were awesome. Loredona was our assistant guide and Roberto was our head guide...they did a fantastic job! If you can stay at Ecocamp as part of your trip to Patagonia, you will be treated to a unique experience you won't soon forget.

The Ecocamp is on the one hand adventure pure, on the other a great outdoor experience without missing comfort and some luxury. The rooms are spacious, the beds warm and comfortable, the sanitary units clean and with ample hot water, and the food is heavenly. What also makes this place special is its people: highly motivated, very friendly, very knowledgeble, and last not least highly convinced of the fascinating concept of this place.

Room Tip: Yoga lessons are given for free.
