This hotel have one of the most beautiful view that I have seen in all my trips. As "Torres Del paine" it isn't a place where you can find cheap hotes, i think hosteria Pehoe worth what you pay. specially because the location. our rooms was 36, and it has the most beautiful view of the hotel. But really, don't expect modern rooms, with nice decorations, tvs, something like that, because there aren't . the rooms are simple however cleaned. the breakfast is decent, and the restaurant has a fixed menu, with 02 or 03 options of entry, main course and dessert each day ( You pay for each one you choose). They have a business center but You pay for use internet, however they offer a free wi-fi.

I booked 6 months in advance and read all the reviews, but we ended up in the rennovated section and had one of the few rooms with a view (#36). our room was great. clean, quite, water was fine, etc...

based on other reviews, we didn't eat dinner here, but went down the road to the campground, which was a really good meal (for where we were).

The help at the desk was great. The weather was crazy, but they were able to give good advice on what to see and do based on different conditions.

As for the cost, it is a lot, but remember that your other options are much more. I wouldn't want to do the drive in from Natales everyday. We had a really great experience here and I'd like to thank the staff for it.

This is one of the amazing spots on the planet. This is also one of the poorest hotels. It really needs a complete overhaul. The one thing this place has going for it is the view and that is about it. The restaurant was ok and the breakfast fine. The hotel was expensive for the quality and definitely is playing off of the value of the location.

The place has the most amazing view of the lake and the mountains, but it is a real dump. We were staying in the obviously older part of the hotel, where the rooms have have not been updated in decades. The bed was soft and had a crunchy plastic cover over the matress so sleep quality was not great despite the fact that you are in the middle of a stunning park. Dinner in the restaurant bordered on boring. We were told that we could not have a table by the window (with the excellent view), and then almost all of the window tables remained empty all night. Don't stay here unless you are looking for a low budget motel experience at a champagne price. Just do the hike that starts right by the hotel so you get an even better view of the lakes, mountains and glaciers.

On this trip to TDP we didn't want to camp but rather wanted a relaxing few days to do things at our own pace. Some good hiking, but with a cosy warm bed at the end! Staying in the park was a good choice, based on the fact that a day trip from somewhere like Remota would just be too much and be reliant on the luck of having a good weather day.

I was really aprehensive about staying here after reading some reviews and debated this one over Lago Grey and Hotel Las Torres. First off, the location is simply stunning. If you have a blue sky day there, you would happily sell a kidney to experience the location and we had a magical time there that we will remember forever. It's on it's own little island, and a great spot to just relax. The upstairs has a lounge area where you can sit in comfort and watch the weather close in as it inevitably will at some point in your stay in Patagonia. Having said that if value for money is going to eat away at you and spoil your trip, then maybe think about paying more for the other two hotels I mentioned. The food was 'school dinner' standard. Fair enough, but obviously your are paying 4 star prices. Inside, our room was warm and cosy. But everywhere is definately a bit old and faded. Again, acceptable, but you are paying a lot. You can definately tell it's a concession. My guess, that the present owner is giving it up in a few years and not interested in new investment.

Overall, the location made it worth it for me. It might be overpriced, but still affordable and if you want 5 star quality, that is what Explora is for. The staff were very helpful as well. It's a great way to see TDP if you don't want to do 7 hour hikes everyday but would rather do things at your own pace and still see the highlights or the park, especially Lago Pehoe and the Cuernos. The hotel can also take you to Cerro Castillo to meet the bus to El Calafate. Ask for a room with a view of the Cuernos as well! I think there are only a couple facing the front and they don't charge more, it's just down to luck normally. Probably the best hotel room view in the world! As an aside, Lago Grey looked a good spot for being close to the glacier, and Las Torres the better choice for hiking to the Towers. Maybe next time!

It might be poor value for money in some ways, but the location is pretty priceless!

Based on previous postings, we were prepared for the worst. But we were very pleasantly surprised. We arrived a bit early and asked (very sweetly) if they had a room with a view. The very nice receptionist said yes. We were shown our room with an amazing view of the torres. The location of the hotel is really great. It is out on an island you walk out to on a pier. We were prepared and brought our own food (dinner and lunch). We only ate breatfast (which was included) -- and it was below average. BUT we found the family running the hotel very nice. We joked with them and shared a bit of califate liquor -- and everyone warmed up very nicely. They helped make reservations for us, gave my rice to put my cell phone in when it got soaked and openned a bottle of wine for us. The cast is high -- but that is Torres. If you are expecting a fancy SPA or Ecolodge at this price -- you won't find it. If you are looking for a good solid central location with an amazing view -- this is it.

Lots of time to slow down and stare at the spectacular view from the lounge and the dining room. We ate all our meals at the hotel and no, it isn't Manhattan Haute Cuisine, and we know about that. It was however simple but good food on the whole, and definitely not the reason one visits this beautiful part of the world. Getting supplies in and out of this location has to be a logisitics challenge and expectations have to be adjusted, in my opinion. I agree with the reviewer who said he would have been happy to sleep on the bridge if he had to to experience this location. Luis the waiter was our special favorite staff member and a very hardworking man. Bus tour groups swarm in and out and are not always the most patient of customeres. He never lost his gracious smile.
