As many other reviews state it's a beautiful location and our room was very nice. However, we booked an 'all inclusive' . . . but it really isn't 'all inclusive'. We wanted a 'box lunch' because we were going on an all day excursion . . . but the hotel wanted to charge us $50 for three box lunches. Their excuse was that we didn't book our ENTIRE day excursion through them -- they didn't offer kayaking and we added it in. It is sad that such a minor thing as a box lunch would cause them to disappoint customers.

This hotel has great views. We booked through Bookings.com and the front desk told us because of that we would get a view facing a parking lot. I did ask for an upgrade and she gave it to us free of charge. Our view was through huge picture windows. It is important because the weather in Patagonia can be high winds and cold, so you need a place to hang out.

However you are fairly far from the park. If you don't have a rental car, you will be dependent on the hotel for excursions. A hiking excursion costs around $135 US plus tips to the guide per person. A box lunch will run you $25 each. The dinner buffet is around $50 each.

When we communicated months before with the hotel about how to get there from El Calafate, they said they would pick us up at Cerro Castillo. The bus does not stop there to let people on and off, so that is not an option from the bus. Then they said they would pick us up at Puerto Natales. Cost is $140 per person. When we got to Puerto Natales, nobody was there. We ended up taking a taxi at a cost of $120. It is about 1.5 hours to the hotel from PN. Nobody at the hotel would take responsibility for the missing ride, since we communicated by email through bookings and nobody every gave us their name. Always ask for a name.

Once at the hotel, we realized we were trapped with no car. I went back the next day by bus to PN and rented a car. There is a bus that runs back leaving at 3PM from near the hotel. Rental cars run about $80 a day, but it is worth it. You can then drive into the park and go anywhere you want. Driving to the Vista of the Torres is about 1.5 hours each way. There are no gas stations in the park, so be sure you have at least a quarter tank when you get back to the hotel to make it to Puerto Natales.

Anyway, if you have a car, the hotel is a good option for enjoying Torres Del Paine. The public areas are very nice and cozy. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: get a view looking at the mountains. Accept no less.

Our room was comfortable (at around 3-star level) - after we sorted out the fact that no waste basket was included. The room had a beautiful view but only one armchair provided! The toilet system is "green" so needs some getting used to (no paper allowed in the toilets)...The Christmas dinner - booked 4 months in advance - was chaos. Until the morning of the dinner, nobody at reception or in the dining room knew what time dinner would start - and, reception actually provided incorrect information. We arrived with no table reserved for us (apart from the 4-month advance booking, we pestered them the morning of Christmas Eve and 2 days before to confirm that they had our advance booking - and payment). Communication between front office and the dining room could not have been good. Our dinner was saved by CYNTHIA - who had to pacify other irate guests. We decided to be constructive and not blame her - we declined an offer of free wine and chocolates for the meal, but received some anyway in our room the following day. With better senior management this hotel will be fantastic - it is already good - and the views are unbeatable. The buffet breakfast and dinners were quite good, considering the large numbers they had to feed.

Room Tip: Insist on a room that faces the mountains range (Toores del Paine). The other rooms face a parking lot)

A very nice hotel, nicely designed public areas with huge windows to the view of Torres. The rooms are clean and spacious. Nothing in the rooms; no kettle etc.
Good climbing and hiking excursions.
Food is a major minus- breakfast is barely edible, bar/restaurant- simple food poorly made. No grocery near buy so bring supplies if you can- beautiful place and a shame this is part of the memory

We spent two nights here while visiting the national park. This hotel is locate just outside the gates of the park. The views of the Torres del Paines are spectacular from the hotel. The location is wonderful. The room was very nice and it had a great view too. The food in the restaurant was excellent too. There was a very wide selection of all kinds of food. The problem was not eating too much. If we return to this area we will definitely stay again.
