A big hotel well heated and with confortable and big rooms with very small closets, the view from the window is amazing! right at the torres del paine! It has free wifi at the lobby and dinning room, and it's close to the torres del paine national park, about 20 minutes.

We had a great room facing the Torres and the when the sun sets, it lights up the whole mountain. At night, when it's clear, the Torres are awe inspiring and the hotel has a nice viewing area outside the lobby. A beautiful setting with a river, great views, nice comfortable rooms and great guides. Alex was our guide and he was fantastic. The hotel also has phenomenal food and is the perfect place to unwind after a long hike.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Torres.

Beautifully situated with incredible views but unimaginative.
Its useful to be inside the park but then you are reliant on the hotel for everything.
Decent enough room but absolutely no hanging space.
The safe didnt work and needed visit from maintenance to set it up which took three visits to the
unfriendly front desk.
They know people are on a once only visit so dont need to try too hard.
The evening buffet was expensive and medicre. Breakfast was average.
There was a very good restaurant near the hotel and its worth eating there in the evening - the hotel doent do lunches anyway.
Our lake Grey excursion was at 8 am. which meant getting out at 5.30 for a half hour coach journey, and then another half hour walk. It was pouring with rain and really unpleasant.
There is a Lake Grey boat in the afternoon so try and get that.
I would have preferred to stay at the Lake Grey hotel just for that reason,
Nothing to do in the Hotel. Thought it really boring

This hotel is just outside the park gates and is conviently situation for getting into and around the park. We had booked a standard room which overlooks the front of the hotel. When we realised that the best view was from the otherside of the hotel towards the Los Cuernos in a superior room we asked to upgrade. They told us there were no rooms available but after a little bit of pushing on our part they said they would open up 2 rooms for us and our friends. I think some rooms were closed because they were going to be redecorated. The view was amazing and if the room needed redecorating we did not really notice as the view made up for it! The room was large with 2 queen size beds and a large but simple bathroom.
we ate dinner in the dining roon on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. The first night we had arrived quite late and only got to dinner at 9.30pm, there was not alot of choice left and it was dried out. Our second night we ate in a nearby restaurant, La Parilla which was not fantastic and was expensive, so the third night we ate in the hotel and made sure we were much earlier. It was a better experience but expensive for what it was. It appears all reastatants in or near the park are expensive and not very good value for money, so be prepared!
We booked 2 excursions through the hotel the first on Lago Grey up to the glacier face was amazing and the other was a boat trip in an inflatable down the Rio Serrano to the Serrano Glacier which was exhilarating.
We bought a 3 day entrance ticket which in January 2012 was 15000 Chilean pesos per person. The roads in the park are unmade but if you drive carefully there is no problem. There is no fuel stations in the park so make sure you fill your tank in Puerto Natales.
There is free wifi in the public areas but not in the bedrooms.

Room Tip: Have a superior room, the view is fantastic.

We stayed three nights at the Rio Serrano Hotel. I debated about staying outside of the park but it is less than 6 kms. from the park entry and you can pay the park fee once for several days admission. I used Trip Advisor reviews to ultimately make my decision as to where to stay, and I was happy with the choice. The Rio Serrano is modern, tastefully decorated, and has a lovely common area with lots of comfortable couches, chairs, and huge picture windows overlooking the gorgeous mountains - what a view! Our room was large, very nicely appointed, with a comfy bed. We found the staff very friendly, helpful and engaging. They provided me with a laptop that could be used in the common area since I did not bring my own laptop. They arranged our trip to Lago Grey which we thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend. Breakfast was included and had a reasonable buffet with eggs, fruit, rolls, bread, coffee cakes, cold cuts. Each night there was a buffet and it is definitely not cheap, in general we paid about $90/per night for the two of us for dinner, and it is definitely not a $90 meal. However, after reading many reviews about people's experience in all the hotels in the park, meals are expensive, not great, but it is the price you pay for being in a very remote location with a very short season. The reason you are going there is not to eat 5 star meals anyway, so enjoy the park and what it has to occur, it is an amazing place. Personally I think that the all inclusive prices at the many of the other hotels are way out of line, especially when you are paying per person. I felt that this hotel, given its location and the condition of the place and the rooms, was a very good deal for the money. If I went back, I would stay there again for sure.

One thing to add: We rented a small car (Toyota Yaris) in Punta Arenas and traveled to the park. All the guidebooks talk about the paved road from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales and it is excellent. What you don't know is that about 15-20 miles outside of Puerto Natales it turns into an unpaved road. I thought unpaved = dirt road, but it is a loose stone/rock, rutted road with gouges ("potholes"). They try to level it apparently on a regular basis, but buses and trucks soon bring it back to its former state. It was unpleasant driving and that continues THROUGHOUT the park. If I had to do it again, I would probably not drive but arrange transportation, but if you are insistent on driving, get an SUV or 4 wheel drive which gives you better stability and clearance and less worry about flat tires and broken axles!

One other tip: If you are driving, after about 25 miles past Puerto Natales, you will come to a split in the road, and both signs will refer to the "Park Administration center" and reference a lake rather than a hotel. We took the wrong road and wound up having to drive all the way through the park to get to our hotel which was at the south end and outside the park. While it is beautiful driving through the park, the road condition is bad and you must go slow (especially in a little car). It is slow going and it was getting dark, and we were already tired. So be very clear before you go which lake is nearest to the entrance to the park you want. I mentioned this to the hotel staff and they said they hear that all the time, people who wanted to be at the far end of the park (near Torres Hotel) came to Rio Serrano's entrance and vice versa.

Room Tip: pay a little more for a room with a view, you won't regret it

This is an exceptional location for a hotel. The view from my room was as beautiful as anywhere that I have ever stayed and the room was very comfortable. The restaurant was a bit disappointing but the evenings at the bar were terrific fun. Being away from light pollution and seeing the amazing stars was an unforgettable experience.

The location makes this hotel an excellent choice if you are visiting Torres del Paine and I fully recommend it.

Room Tip: Without question, request a north facing room. A south facing room would be to miss the entire poin...

We stayed 4 nights in a superior room facing the masiff. Very big room. Beautiful view from the window. Relaxed atmosphere. Gorgeous lobby!! the staff and people in the dining room very attentive and efficient. The dinners in hotel are ok. Be aware that soft drinks are VERY pricy!!! Around 6 dollars for bottle of coca kola.
