After 8 days hiring 2 motorbikes we ask if it was ok to keep one for 2 extra hours, we should bring it back at 4pm and ask for 2 hours free. Nothing to do even if we propose to buy bus tickets from them to the 4ooo islands... good deal for us and for them but no they want to charge us a half day more for the 2 hours extra... so just go on the corner for your motorbike. The guys are verry polite and nice and you can make some arrangements...

The rooms are clean, but quite small for two persons. Hot shower and fan. We couldn't sleep much, because of the loud sounds of closing doors, talking and laughing on the same floor. No sound isolation, Lankham hotel is just very noisy.
Another thing was the young crew. Boys of the staff were not very attentive or pro-active. Seemed that they've never got a training, far from professional. Actually I can't find any reason why you should go here.

The first time I visited this hotel in 2009, I remember I returned to the hotel at 1am, after visiting another backpacker in the Pakse hospital. There was no possibility to go inside the hotel to go to the room. I tried to call the reception number and even mobile numbers, but no one responded. One boy who slept on the floor near the reception, didn't wake up by my calling and knocking. There was also no way to access the hotel from the backside. I just waited outside until 5.30am, then had a sleep in my room and checked out. I complained at the reception, but the lady only wanted to return 50% of the price.

Spent one night here in the double, air con – new ones. It was cheap but noisy. Not much else to say. There seem to be better options nearby. However, we rented a motorcycle from here for a week and it was a good bike – low mileage and we had no trouble at all doing the Southern Swing – one of the highlights of our time in Laos.

Its cheap but very basic. Tiny room, very noisy aircon (which cost extra). The sheets may not have been that clean and the bathroom was small and old. If you can afford to pay extra then do it.

Located in front of a bus stop, this budget hotel is convenient. It has a noodle restaurant, an internet cafe and a rental bike service (2 dollars). I highly recommend you to try noodle and fresh orange juice here.

However, a single room of 8 dollars has just minimum facilities without window. You may find a better room if you don't hesitate to walk 2-3 minutes from here.

In March 2009, I once believed that they serve the best noodle in Laos. But I regret that they decrease vegetables and don't serve boiled cabbage any more in March 2010. Furthermore, an internet cafe close early and it smells bad.

I have stayed at this hotel actually 3 times, just finally getting around to reviewing it now. The hotel is very conveniently located and offers several varieties of simple rooms ranging from $8 per night for a fan room w/cold shower to a larger room with 2 double beds + hot water shower. Rooms 241 & 341 are the huge rooms w/2 double beds. Staff sometimes needs a bit of prodding to clean the room or bring towels/bottled water they have forgotten to restock, but the place is such good value I will definitely stay there again.

In a good location near to the river, banks and travel agencies. the x-plore asia travel agency 2 shops down is very reliable.
My room on 3rd floor was basic but good enough for 2 night stay.
Staff friendly.
Internet cafe attached.
The morning noodle restaurant is a great place to eat and people watch.
