Skansen has a nice location by the sea. It´s a very good choice for tennis freaks, especially during Swedish Open. Rooms are a bit worn out and not very clean, the drain of the washbasin in our room was blocked. Breakfast was very good, also the staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with the sea view.

If you happen to be in the greater Copenhagen and Malmø area, there are numerous small towns along the great coastline to visit. One of them is Båstad. I personally thinks the town is nothing special, but Skansen Hotel is the place to be during the Swedish Open Tennis tournaments in July. For a single room, I was charged around EUR 300 per night. I had views toward a wall and on the ground floor. The room itself was small but nice, the service was decent, and the food was anything but exciting. A drink in the bar has got the same price as in NOBU in London, but it lacks the flavor and the international jet setters. Instead you have drunks Swedes singing around a piano.

Room Tip: Choose the main building with views

If you're going to Båstad during the summer, this is the place to stay. Excellent breakfast, dinner at award winning 'Sand', quick service and less than 1 minute walk to the beach, tennis court and most popular nightclubs. The rooms are rather small, even though we stayed in one of the more premium ones near the tennis court.

Skansen is located in the heart of Båstad, the Swedish Tennis Metropol and just 100 mtrs.
from the sea, it´s rather big but still cosy and with modern, designed rooms.
There is also Spa/Treatment/Gym and indoor pool, saunas, restaurant and bars and even
a bathinghouse 50 mtrs. out in the sea (open all year around) if you dear risk it.
And the city of Båstad with cubblestone streets, shops and restaurants, it´s so nice.

Room Tip: All rooms are good with low traffic noice. Maybe you should choose lower floors if you don´t like t...

What a wonderful hotel - elegant but relaxed, well maintained, beautiful location and excellent service and food. From the reception to the restaurant - all done with a smile even at its most busy times. We stayed in the old grain storage building that had been redone 10 years ago to act as a hotel - it worked seamlessly. Smallish hotel rooms, but oozing charm. We were there for a Friday night with Dinner and Dance. The surroundings couldnt have been better. Next time - and there will definitely be a next time - we'll stay for the weekend and make sure to use the Spa - both in and out door.

I have stayed at this hotel twice and it is lovely! Especially the "Kallbadhus" is an exceptiional experience. The hotel is nice, clean and modern, the spa is also very nice and the food in the restaurant is good - the breakfast buffet is amazing. But the real treat is the sorroundings. Beautiful landscape and a soothing view over the sea, very blissful!

I have only been here in the fall and never when there is a tennis tournament going on. Do watch out for those as you will get no peace and quiet then! They sometimes allow kids in the spa - ask in advance when. The spa is so much greater without them ;)

All in all a good place for a romantic getaway or a relaxing girls' weekend.

A very relaxing time was spent at Hotel Skansen in Båstad with a group of friends. We stayed in one of the villas around the tennis court which was excellent (great interconnecting rooms with a kitchennet and extra bed in between). Spa was good, pool was nice. Tried the zumba class and a yoga class which were great. Sunday brunch quite fantastic - not to be missed!
All in all a great experience!
