Always love staying at the Tott in Åre. The ambience is great and the rooms are comfortable. It's in a great location and has everything you need in a resort hotel. It's not the peak of decadence or luxury - but who really cares. The skiing in Åre is great and the Tott's location allows you to easily ski in and ski out. I've stayed here a few times and it's always been outstanding.

Tott is basically a nice 3+ star hotel focused on skiers, although a bit dated in some parts (elevators) it's in a remarkable good condtition.

The location is very near Åre city centre but above it. Walking is downhill and takes 5 minutes. The return trip is more challenging and takes maybe 10 minutes as you have to walk up the steep hill. A taxi charges about 100 SEK each way.

Rooms are small to very small but equipped with a pentry and all gear, should you decide to make your own lunch/dinner. This can be a cost saver for families with children. If you're sensitive to noise, avoid lower northwest facing rooms as there's a stream outside that produces some "white noise". My bathroom was in a very good condition and I assumed it was renovated not too long ago. I had a look in some other rooms as well and it seems to be consistent.

In the room you will find a small flat screen TV, maybe 20 inch with standard Swedish and Norwegian channels. Beds/pillows are on the basic/cheap side so don't expect much here, however after a day on the slopes and some after-ski party you will sleep well anyway.

Staff are young and friendly and there are some unintentional gaps in service due to inexperience. Nothing that bothered me but just to let you know :)

There's an inside pool, jacuzzi and sauna for a surcharge. Free fast internet wifi available all over the hotel is a big plus. Full buffet breakfast including scrambled eggs/bacon is included in the room price.

For skiers, the location of the hotel is ideal as a lift to the hills are just outside. All in all, a very good hotel and ideal for skiers and families with small children. I enjoyed my stay and will return for my next skiing experience.

Room Tip: Rooms facing northwest can be disturbed by "white noise" from the stream.

The hotel wins plaudits for the window panoramas alone. Both in the bar/restaurant and spa you're treated to floor to ceiling views of the slopes and the frozen lake and town below. The spa, a glass cocoon built into to the mountainside, is perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. The bar/restaurant makes breakfast (excellent buffet) worth getting up for and the bar is ideal for early evening drinks before hitting the town, a ten minute walk away. Staff were friendly, and everything is so convenient - ski hire is in the hotel and the ski lift is on the other side of a short footbridge running straight from the hotel, it couldn't be any easier.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the town and lake below, they have balconies and the view is great

We stayed at this hotel from 2nd-8th January 2012. Initially we were in a 2 bedroomed apartment, which was adequate but with very little storage space, so some of us were living out of a suitcase. It was also too hot, and no thermostat.
They needed our rooms for hundreds of incoming students for the last two nights, and offered us a free upgrade to the Penthouse Suite which was incredible with in-house dining, jacuzzi, sauna, wood-burner and 200 sq m of space. It was AMAZING. My three children, 21,19,16 enjoyed an experience of a lifetime. We didn't want to leave. Thank you.

The evening food was delicious, but a choice for the half-board option would have been preferable, as two of my children don't eat fish! Breakfasts were very good.

We loved the pool, the gym, and convenience of the slopes, and the snow-mobile ride across the frozen lake. Are is a pretty village with very friendly people, good shops and bars. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back.

This hotel was amazing, the style of it is very modern and very comfortable. The spa overlooks the piste and has a drinks service so you can take your drink into the jakuzzi/pool with you. The food is very good but there is limited choice so you do end up eating the same thing throughout the week. There is a bar at the hotel but this was never really busy in the night. We found this with all of the resort bars. They are extremely busy at 3pm onwards till about 7pm and then there doesn't seem to be anyone around. Luckily, the hotel is brilliant and very relaxing, so there was not really a need to go out after dinner. The slopes are excellent and you can ski directly to the hotel which is very convienient. There is a good bar on the run home too which makes for challenging skiing after a few wines. The view from the hotel is picturesque and i'd recommend the skidoo across the frozen lake and the husky sledge ride.
