We stayed at Cooperhill just for 2 nights in end December 2012. The hotell is situated 5 km east of Åre. It´s a 40min ski tour to come to the "real" slopes and the best is to take the car to Åre to fully enjoy a day of skiing.

The hotell is very nice and newly built. we stayed in a standard room and it was a good name for it, standard. The relax is beutiful with different pools (inside and outside) and the view is nice.
The resturang is high priced and we did not like the service. Many young people is working there and very few adults, which sometimes materialize in the service. The breakfast was really good.

But overall a good hotell with OK service and a betufil relax.

Copperhill is a beautiful hotel with an unusually laid-back atmosphere in the big lobby area. Great room, attentive (relatively young) staff, good Spa and big open lobby area that feels like home and where you like to hang around for the day. The enclosed skishop also sells lift-passes and the (baby)slope starts right outside the hotel (besides the skishop and where the ski-lockers are). The skislope (more like a path) leads you down to Are Bjornen from where you can access the wider ski-area. It is a kids-friendly hotel although diner options for the kids are somewhat limited (but sufficient). We had a set diner in the evening which was great. Drinks are, this is Sweden, expensive. We had a great time skiing, and doing other winter activities, adn had relaxing time in the hotel (met some nice people). We are definitely planning to go back to Copperhill.

This place is just outstanding perfect. The high luxury standard of the room/suites overlooking the Åreskutan is just wow!
We spend a weekend in off season and we were prepared that the lift to the lodge was not open and that we had to drive down the hill to Åre village to catch the cable car and ski lifts. It’s a bit long, but worth it.
Also the restaurant experience with local food (lamb) and excellent wines kept our taste buds busy.
We will for sure be back!

Room tip: Make sure to get a room facing the Åreskutan.

Husband and I spent a weekend here with our 4-year old daughter, and we all loved it. It was a bit off season so we got the whole SPA area to ourselves (which was great). Staff in the reception, restaurant and SPA were very professional and made us feel most welcome. We had a pre-ordered Half Board Menu which was truly delicious. The SPA was fantastic, and we just loved the atmosphere and the views there. Definitely going back!

Room tip: Less noise from the bar on the higher floors during conferences/weekends

The location of the hotel is perfect, it is only a 5 min ride with car to Åre city and it sits on top of a small mountain with a great view of the surrounding are, especially the mountain Åreskutan and the lake Åresjön.
First impression of the room on our stay was not that good. Dead flies on the floor and a very hot room since the room had no air condition. No hotel information binder on the room, so we had no idea what number to dial to the reception etc.
The windows couldn't be locked in opened position, so when winds swept into the room, the windows opened/closed by them selves. Since the room was so hot from the days sunny weather, we had to have to windows open all night to get a somewhat comfortable temperature, with the "bonus" of getting more flies into the room.
We had chosen a Silver Suite, that included a bedroom, a lounge, a small toilet and a big bathroom with both bath and shower. The suite had a very nice view of the mountain Åreskutan! We stayed three nights, and on the second day, the cleaners did not fill up toilet paper so we had to call the reception to get more. Same with the soap on the third day.
The hotel is quite new, so you might think that the rooms should be well insulated from sounds from the other rooms, but that was not the case. In the mornings the usual high noise from doors opening and closing was heard clearly and we were awakened early by it. The windows had drapes and shades but let in too much sun for our taste.
The reception staff was very service minded, the hotel restaurant Niesti served excellent food both at breakfast and dinner. There are three pools in the spa. One big that can be used for some slow swims, another that is knee/waist high that has a higher temperature that is great for relaxing and having a drink in, and the last one outside.

Room tip: Make sure you get a room with a view of Åreskutan or the lake Åresjön!

Dear kanngard,
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We take the reviews very seriously and bring up all aspects, good and bad, in staff meetings on a regular basis. Your experiences help us stay on top. In respons to your concerns:
We are sorry about the flies – we are aware of this issue and work with professional bug exterminators during the summer. Since it was brought up in your review, we have been more concious about informing guests at check-in.
The general information in the rooms is all on the televisions this season. Of course, you should have been informed at check-in.
The silver suites have panoramic views, which means a lot of windows and light. Mostly much appreciated by guests, indeed it is possible that it could get too warm and too bright for some. We hope the wonderful views compensated for the lack of darkness and shade, but your comment is noted.
We are glad to hear the reception staff were helpful in solving the room cleaning glitches, and do hope to see you again at our hotel.
