A decent and new hotel (well, refurbished from office building they say).
For the price it is acceptable. Nice and clean rooms expected from a budget hotel.
I read earlier reviews that some have issues with the frosted glass at the bathroom.
It is frosted glass not clear glass and only a shadow can be seen from the outside.
No issue unless you are not a human being and embarass to reveal some unusual body shapes, LOL

The breakfast was basic. Parking is ample.
Perfect to 1 to 2 nights stay

Stayed here for a night. We were lucky to get it at a promotional price; RM118 for a superior room (excludes breakfast) Overall we had a nice stay at this hotel. The room and bathroom are clean. I really like the modern, frosted glass wall between the shower area and the bed. But it might be an issue of you are sharing the room with a friend or with children as you will be showering with an audience. =)

My wife, 4-year old daughter and I stayed there for one night. Checked in on 02 June 2012 and checked out on the next day. Upon arrival, we immediately found a parking spot near to the entrance - well, maybe it was luck. Plus, I have read from the previous review that the parking area was small. We arrived quite late in the evening but no problem with that since we had booked via agoda and made payment. Staffs were friendly enough, one of them carried our bags.

Negative comments:
One of the major ones is the breakfast buffet. It was not too shabby but if more choices were made available, then it is almost perfect.
Not for the ones who value privacy - bathroom wall was made from frosted glass. Persons in the bedroom could see the shape of the person inside.
An entrance card faulty once.

Positive comments:
Nice clean room
Good layout and interior design
Big glass windows - at night, we slept with a view of the moon.
Bathroom is clean.

When I read that the Pinetree Hotel is only 18 months old, I looked forward to my stay there.

On arrival I found that the basement car park has no lift to the Lobby. So guests need to carry their own luggages or ask for assistance from the bell boy.

Although the hotel was refurbished 18 months ago it was original an office building converted to a hotel. This did not bother me so much as the room which faced the hot afternoon sun. The room is so hot even with the aircon on at 16 degree. Also there is no day curtain which means that if you want to block out the strong sunlight then the curtains will have to be drawn and your room is in total darkness.

I presume all the standard rooms face the hot afternoon sun and that is why it is cheaper. I wonder how the staff at the previous office building survived the afternoon heat as it is like being in an oven and literally toasted alive! Pity that for all the new refurbishment the hotel had to stinge on the day curtains.

The breakfast is simple but sufficient to set you off for the day.

Room Tip: choose a room which does not face the afternoon sun.

Batu Pahat has grown from a small town to a fairly busy small shopping city of sorts. Visitors to Batu Pahat typically indulge in some shopping and cheap good eats.

Apart from the gaudy mega-malls scattered at the outskirts of the town, the town centre itself still has an "old world" charm reminiscent of Malaysian towns in the 70s and 80s. Inner Batu Pahat is a refreshing break from the ultra-urban Kuala Lumpur, the tacky and noisy Melaka, and the chaotic mess of Johor Bahru. To truly appreciate the charm that this town has to offer, an overnight stay would be best to experience what it's like to have supper at the street-side food cart-hawkers, and then the next morning at the ubiquitous coffee-shops. This would mean a night's stay at a hotel that is clean and not a throw-back to the typical cockroach infested dirty town hotels of the 70s and 80s.

Pinetree Hotel is one of the newest hotels in Batu Pahat. The staff are helpful, the service efficient, and the rooms clean. The hotel also has free WiFi which is useful to keep in touch with the modern world outside this town.

If you like Chinese vegetarian food, try the vegetarian restaurant across the road. It serves decent dishes at reasonable prices.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a window.

Family with 2 young girls and a toddler..

Location/Carpark : Along a busy road..Very easy to find the hotel, one of the tallest building in the area..Theres a basement carpark but hump too high (our car is not modified) so we decided to park at the open space lot for hotel guests...Sound of vehicles driving past could be heard even til late night coz of the location..There are several hawker food stalls late at night along the streets...Shpg ctr is a walking distance...10-15mins drive to the WetWorld, a waterplay for kids..!

CheckIn/Rm : Checkin was complete in abt 10-15mins..Front desk doesnt hv a record of our booking in hand hence the wait..Rm was very clean and its a non carpeted flooring..we booked the triple family that comes with a King & Single Bed..Bathroom was huge with a bathtub, shower and toiletries..Has a kettle & a mini fridge that comes with complimentary drinks..

Bfast : buffet style with a delicious spread of food..I tried a bit of everything...! :))
My daughter is a fan of mushroom soup but it was cold...:-/

Overall, pleasant stay...!

I've checked in the hotel for 1night (27/5/2012) as i have work here. When i 1st arrived, my 1st impression was the hotel looked clean, modern n cmfy. The receptionist that on duty upon my check in was vry polite n nice too. When i entered my room (deluxe room) there was no ironing board n iron. I have 2 go to level 7 or 11 to the ironing room. With that kind of rate, they should put iron/ironing board in the room like the crystal inn. I need 2 checkout early that morning (on the 28th), the receptionist, a malay girl was not polite at all. She did not smile, she even talk 2 me rudely with her rude expression n even make me waited for about 15minutes bcoz she's buzy talk 2 other people at the counter. She should know how 2 be courteous n polite. Furthermore, that is one of the criteria to be in her job right now. She even left me waiting at the counter n leave it for another girl wearing a green uniform that i guess, a trainee 2 finished her job. What a dweeb! The room was ok but not the staff. 2 compare btween this htl n crystal inn, i prefer 2 go 2 crystal inn next time. Eventhough the hotel was a budget hotel bt the staff were vry nice. The management should do smthg n trained their staff 2 be more profesional with their work. Nobody respect rude people, rite?
