“New Inn, Good Location”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

We stayed here for one night during Chinese New Year holidays hence the price was a bit on the high side (no discount/promotion during this time). Reception is on the 1st floor accessible by a lift. To go up further the floors require room keycard, there are CCTVs in the corridors, and a security guard stationed next to the lift on the ground floor, so there are some measures of security for the inhouse guests. There is a hot and cold water dispenser near the lift landing area on our floor as well as at the Reception.

The room is spacious, clean and the beds comfortable. Wifi is free and fast enough. TV programs and signal reception are not that good but we hardly watched the TV anyway. The only downside is the design of the bathroom: shower is next to the toilet and there is no divider/curtain between them, so the toilet and the floor become wet after using the shower.

Good location in the centre of the town, within walking distance to the bus terminal, some sights and no worries with where to eat. Good value for money considering the inn is quite new (9 months old) and if you stay outside of the festive season.

As other people mentioned, the price is not cheap compared to the local standard. However, the hotel is quite new and the room is spacious. if what you want is a clean and comfortable place to stay, you can choose to stay here. Anyway, the price is still affordable for people from other city.

I don't understand why this hotel is ranked #1 in Muar! We don't agree completely. We stayed two nights at the price of RM157 per night. As we have stayed in other hotels in Muar, we were very disappointed with what we got at this hotel. This hotel is overpriced. Yes the room is big and clean but there is no electric jug, no daily newspapers, not enough parking lots, no breakfast, and when we came back at about 3pm after a day out we were disappointed that the room was not cleaned and towels not changed. We have stayed at other hotels in Muar for a lower price with much better amenities and better service. Note that you are also asked to pay the full amount upfront with an extra RM50 cash as deposit! TripAdvisor ranked this hotel #1! Looks like we cannot simply trust TripAdvisor again. My advice: if you wanna spend RM157 per night on hotels in Muar look elsewhere, definitely not Inn Home Hotel.

Had the family room(2 queen size beds)- Very clean, comfortable beds and clean toilet(no toilet stains). Internet- wifi signal was good, adequate speed. View of the old town shops from the 5th floor. Early check in allowed, with good parking & security guard directly at its entrance to control who goes in/out of hotel and parking lot. No breakfast provided but there are ample street food-very tasty. In short- good location to all the good street food, local shops, banks and bus stop. The only downside was no astro channels provided.

booked here for a colleague's wedding. i took a bus ride and from the famous muar bridge heading towards the center of muar, you can already see this hotel standing among the small buildings on the other side of the river. the bus stop is a quick 5 minute walk from the hotel. the hotel offers a special room but you need to top-up 10MYR more but since i got really excited when i saw the hotel from the bridge i opted to choose the special room hoping for a nice view of the muar river. sad to say, my room view were old buildings and hawker stalls - which is also not that bad because i was able to plan where to eat next. i took a muar walking map from the lobby and used it as a guide where to go and where to eat around town. it was very helpful and the hotel's location is perfect for strolling (mind you, it is not a very short walk). as for the room, it is very clean since it is very new (almost 3 months old only). they have this blue-toilet-soapy-bubbly thingy when you flush the toilet bowl which i always put in my toilet back at home and it somehow gives me a clean feeling LOL. the shower is oddly placed without a divider which i think will make the toilet quickly deteriorate over time. they have no kitchen which means no breakfast also, but you don't need it because again, a few steps outside is a huge concentration of food stalls - and i went to eat at almost all of them. it is a reasonably priced hotel in muar. the staff izan was really helpful as well. for an inn, i can say it has surpassed my expectations. i would have given a perfect score if they had placed me in the room with a river view.

Room Tip: pick a room away from the elevator as you will hear it ding-ding-ding in the morning. PUSH them to g...

• Travel group: 4 adults and 2 children.

• The front desk service is ok. Although is a holiday the day we check-in (Hari Raya), the receptions (muslims) are wonderful servers you with a smile.

• The rooms are comfortable. Clean and quiet. Not much of a view from rooms.

• The toilet is clean, and the house keeping provide basic toiletries. The bed are comfortable.

• No breakfast provided which i think is not a big deal. The moment you step out of the hotel lobby food is a walking distance.

• Parking was convenient but the parking area is not a hygiene place (smelly and dirty).

• Location is good although in the morning you can see a lot of foreign workers loitering in that area. But the security was doing a good job keeping the hotel a safe place.

Hotel located at downtown, very convenient, is a good location with beautiful Muar river night view! The room price is attractive and reasonable, room itself is clean and well equipped. We had a very good impression for our first stay in this hotel. Thumb up!!
