Lake View Toya was a lovely surprise for us - modern, comfortable, clean and luxurious . We had a room on the club side with an amazing view. We did the buffet meals and were very satisfied with everything. One evening we ordered a bottle of sake and didn't finish it. The staff ended up saving it for us the next evening without us even asking! Although we didn't have a car, the staff was extremely helpful in assisting us with planning activities for the day time. We also had the resort book us on a shuttle bus to and from Sapporo - I would recommend making sure you book this free service at least 1 week prior to your arrival. We stayed for two nights and found that plenty of time for us. I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking to get out of the big cities for a bit.

Room Tip: Make sure you specifically request non-smoking if that is your preferred room type.

I had a ferry trip @ Lake Toya before checking in. At the lobby, I can already see the islands in the lake. My room was at 4/F. The balcony was extended with a large area of grass land. I can see the lake view clearly from my room & a cute sea gull walking on the grass. The design is western & modern. The view from restaurant for buffet dinner was even better--can see the decorated ferry & a wider horizon of the lake. The variety of food was great--Japanese, Western, cooked, raw...High privacy--even assigned on high stools, people can't see me too well & the other way round.

I had 2 dips during my stay. Once around midnight (I was the only one there--like a private one) & the next one around 6am the other day. The onsen will be closed for cleaning from 2-4am and swap the male/female onsen. The view from the outdoors ones are magnificent. With very good design, once you sat down, it appeared you were enjoying onsen in the lake but at the rooftop 9/F of the hotel. I've tried the foot massage at 2/F--would like to try body massage but the hotel was fully booked. A very relaxing experience.

There is a floor especially for pet. But be careful as they have a fireworks show around 845pm. Some doggies were scared by the noise. Love this hotel & will definitely go back.

We fell in love with this hotel right away when we are looking at the hotel website. When we arrived at the hotel, my hubby is totally blown away by the awesome view of the hotel! One word to describe-Magical! Lake Toya View Nonokaze a modern Japanese hotel and it's beautiful!
We have booked a room with private onsen via our travel agent as the other types of rooms are not available during our stay. There is absolutely no regrets at all. Every room faces the beautiful Lake Toya, even the onsen in the room! The room is very big for a Japanese standard and there is a good mix of zen and western feel to the room. We could just laze in the room forever! The in-room onsen is big enough for two adults to soak together. Imagine looking out of your own onsen to a beautiful scenery outside!

There is 2 public onsen in the hotel- One indoor (located in the main hotel building) and another at the spa building which has the infinity onsen pool with an unblocked view of Lake Toya. Definitely breath-taking!
We went for 3 dips during our one night stay there. The onsen is hardly crowded and there is plently of space for you to soak in the onsen. There is obviously the famous open-air bath and also the indoor one (also have great views of Lake Toya) if you find it too cold in the open. The onsens in the public bath are not considered huge as compared to other onsen hotels but it's good enough.

Go between 300 to 430pm and 730-830pm if you want to avoid crowd. Which is not many to start with. Go around 830pm if you want to watch the fireworks from the public bath (No cameras allowed!)

The dinner is held in the main dining area and only buffet dinner is available. There is a wide selection of food (Western, Chinese, Japanese, Dessert) for both dinner and breakfast. You will also have a great view of Lake Toya while dining there too.
Only complaint about the place- You can only Checkin at 3pm and Checkout at 11am. The place is so beautiful that the time just slipped away so quickly.

P/s: If you do come between April-August, there is a nightly firework display at Lake Toya from 8.45-8.55pm. It's right in front of all the hotels along the Lake Toya. It's awesome! Perhaps taking the scenic boat will allow you to fully capture the firework display but cos' we are staying for only 1 night, we pass on it. We still manage to get some nice pictures from our room though.

Room Tip: If you can splurge on it, have a private onsen in the room, especially during autumn or winter! If not, any other rooms should do fine as all rooms face Lake Toya.

We had a room in the club side with a very very nice view of the Toya Lake. With such a nice view, we enjoy not only the view of the lake and the volcano, but also the fireworks at night. The room is spacious with western style bedroom and Japanese style living area, which is an excellent combination. Coffee bean and grinder is offered in the room as well as a wide choice of black tea and Japanese tea. In the bathroom, they also offer skincare separately for lady and gentleman.

We reserve the 50 minutes private spa on the top floor (9th floor) which also offers a nice view. The spa is relaxing and comfortable.

The dinner buffet offers a wide choice from Japanese, Chinese and western style food, a lot of desserts and soft drinks as well. They also have a corner specially offering food for kids.

We took taxi from Toya JR station to the hotel which costs around 2,000 yen. Hotel can also help to call taxi. We just stayed here for one night and only take a small walk around the Toya Lake. It should be fun if we explore more to the hiking trail and cycling around the lake.

Love this hotel from the very beginning. You'll know why when you're welcomed by friendly door man and after walking to the front desk, wow, the view is so amazing.

Stayed for 2 nights in a japanese/western style room in the club side of the building (room 1505). Impression on walking in was an extremely high class hotel with high attention to detail. We were provided with a hot berry drink and biscuit on check in. Views were already spectacular from lobby. Room when we walked in we just went wow. Huge 56 sq metres, beautiful view of lake toya, 2 separate sitting areas, 2 TVs, huge bathroom area. I think it is worth paying a bit more to stay in the bigger room compared to the hotel style twin room on the other side of the building (only judging from other people's photos).

Public onsen was great, especially from the rooftop onsen. Breathing in the crisp air with the view of lake toya while bathing in hot water. It was busy on the first day at about 4pm, as many people had just checked in and were there to check out the onsen. The next day I went at 10am (before they closed from 11am to 3pm) and there were only 3 people in total, for the last 15 minutes I was alone on the rooftop. So I recommend going before the checkout time or just at 3pm when people are only starting to check in (if you are staying more than 1 night).

We also booked private onsen for the 2 nights we were there. There are 2 private onsen rooms, number 1 has a very small onsen but open plan with sitting area and dressing table. Number 2 has huge onsen but smaller changing area. First night we went at 9pm, absolutely no view. Second day at 4pm view was spectacular. It does get stuffy though because it's indoors in a small area so if it doesn't mean much to you to onsen with others in private then I think the public rooftop spa is much better.

First night we had buffet dinner which was great. Huge variety, sashimi was fresh, lots of japanese style appetisers. Breakfast buffet the next morning was ok. I expected more but it was still good. The second night we had kaiseki dinner in a private room. A true culinary experience. Kaiseki is japanese degustation. The ingredients used were of the highest quality and they used mostly all local ingredients. Service was true Japanese style. You could tell how much thought and love had gone into preparing the food. Definitely worth it especially if you have a special occasion to celebrate. The hotel gave us a complimentary bottle of red as we were celebrating our anniversary. The japanese style breakfast was again great.

This was truly the highlight of my trip and I have not been so impressed by a hotel so much before. Staff were always welcoming and very willing to help. Cannot wait to stay here again.
