This hotel opening has to be the smoothest we have seen! It seems the hotel has been open for years! We are going back as soon as we can! We have never seen such a peaceful hotel. The atmosphere is tranquil and relaxing, you don’t have to lift a finger, and everything is brought to you from an appetizer on your lounge chair to a bottle of wine in your room. This is a hotel for people who want to relax; music playing all around the hotel is smooth jazz, lounge or relaxation music. Those who want party music are well served at the Memories hotels right next door! This is exactly what we are looking for but we did notice some people who seem to want a little more action. This hotel is like being in a spa 24hrs a day! The rooms are beautiful and spacious and room service makes it so easy to be perfectly lazy! We work hard all year and both have stressful jobs and we have finally found what we are looking for when going on vacation. Heavenly peace. No other hotel has even been able to fulfill our need for quietness as the Royalton. It was our best vacation by far.

We had a great start to our holiday by arriving and greeted quickly by reception which only took a few minutes and being shuttle with our personal butler to our amazing ocean view room #507...We were both amazed at the size and location, close to the beach and pool and bar and restaurant and did I mention the bar.....The beach is the best of all the hotels and people no fighting for chairs or shade and bar service at your fingers tips....From short walks to many km stroll will please everybody....24 hour restaurant opened to feed you with great lobster salad or a very yummy Royaltan burger with a fried egg to feed your hunger, no waiting lines for a la carte restaurants because your butler wanted for you in the morning to book your reservation and very rarely did your hear sorry we can't booked that time for you....The Cuba staff all of them form butler , chamber maids, bartenders , servers to Omar or Arturo the managers always asking if we were happy and if everything was okay ,,,,Even offering there cell phone to call home ,,Thanks for that ,,,,Corona to Premium Volka to Blue Label Scotch....Being a new Hotel the only thing to adjust was the fast pace of home to slowing down for diner or supper service....very minor growing pain for a new 5 star resort that just openned and expected way worse for the value paid....looking forward to returning next year and seeing this 5 star resort the best currently in cuba for adults over 18 being a diamond rated resort in no time at all.....Thank you all for a great holiday and look forward to seeing you all in 2013 and sooner than you think....Marc & Alison

Room Tip: room #507 is the best location corner suite on the resort

My spouse and I just got back from a week vacation at this new spectacular resort. It was truly a relaxing and great experience. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to go to Cayo Santa Maria; I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Accomodation:
We had a balcony oceanview room which was beautiful. Loved the shower with its rainfall showerhead and the bath had window doors which opened up and allowed you to take a bath and look out into the ocean. The maid, Juliet, was truly creative and left new towel designs on our bed each day; for instance one day it was an elephant and next was an owl. Only negative was that they still didn't have bathrobes and slippers when we went and no outdoor table on the balcony.

Food:
The food was exceptional for Cuba although repetative; Loved the fact there is no buffet; however a fruit, yogurt, toast cheese and cold cut bar is available for breakfast at the Eggscelence restaurant. No issue booking any restaurant at any time in the evening. Service was excellent. Had choice of different wines from costa rica during lunch and dinner. Had surf and turf a few times near the end they understood what medium rare was; just say more rare than medium the lobster was sometime also a bit overcooked. For lunch the Eggscelence restaurant has a different menu but you can alwats go to the snack bar for a bit of western fare; same menu all the time. Try their garlic shrimp, Chicken and Royalton Burger, I promise you you'll love it. Royalton Burger is a Bacon, cheese burger with real ground beef topped with an egg.

Drinks:
The best drinks in town; no issue getting top shelf drinks; try the 12 year old rum and 18 year old scotch. If you ask for a cappacino they will serve you a latte...but if you say cappacino and point to the small coffee cup they will make you a cappacino western style.

Service:
Best anywhere in the resort; beach, poolside, restaurant, lobby bar. I actually wanted to tip constantly due to the quality of the service.

Pool:
Cool and refreshing. Don't have to rush and get a chair at the pool there are plenty. Pool towels aren't new or 5 star would recommend they change them for more plush ones especially since this is a new resort.

Recommend this resort for anyone who want to relax...not a party place.

Dear guests:

You will be happy to know that we now have bathrobes, slippers and balcony tables!! We are sorry these items were not in your room upon your arrival. Believe it or not, these items were ordered a very long time ago, long before the opening, but unfortunately, delivery in Cuba takes a lot of organization and paperwork and most often than not, takes a lot more time than we really have. Rest assured that we placed all of our efforts in getting these and a more that we needed for the opening as fast as possible. Once again we apologize, there are there for your next visit that is for sure!

As for the food, we are planning on elaborating at least 7 menus per restaurant as of now. Some changes have been made this week and we continue to put our efforts in this direction as we know that the food experience is a big part of a 5 star hotel. Our cooks continue to receive courses on cooking by our chef. In Cuba, meat has always been eaten very well cooked, well we are changing that custom!

We could not thank you enough for your generous comments. We remember you well and are so very happy that we could make your visit at Royalton a memorable one. We are dedicated to you and only you dear clients and your commets are precious. They are the ones who make us better and better every day.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us, we sincerely hope to welcome you again at Royaltoon Cayo Santa Maria, your homely paradise!

We spent 2 weeks @ The Royalton (Dec.6-20).This was our 5 trip to Cuba, every trip has been wonderful but this was simply THE BEST!!! We were abit concerned because the resort had just opened but was it beautiful and in excellent working order & you could see all the resort workers busy making daily improvments. We had been to this area in the past(Cayo Ensenachos)we probably would have returned to Ensenachoes if they had not turned the resort in to a family style and not adults only.We are so glad that we chose The Royalton and we will definatly return!!The beach is beautiful, the grounds are very pretty and will continue to be more so as the wonderful gardeners work continues. The lobby is gorgeous & sparkling clean( thank you Sol Maria) It is a great place to spent an evening & the enteratainment was alway very good, especially enjoyed the piano playing in the bar.Our room was spaciuos, clean & modern, king size bed, excellent spa-like bathroom. It was kept in a lovely clean & refreshed state daily by our wonderful housekeeper,Midiala. The mini bar was stocked to our prefernce daily by the greatest guy who loved to talk baseball with us.The 2 a la carte restuarants had plenty of delicious options & everyone who worked there was so sweet& friendly & the service was top notch. The snack bar had lots of options & again the people working there were so nice(Ola Raydel !!) The only thing missing from the menus was any real Cuban food (we really wanted some ropa veija)Our 2 butlers (Frank& Noelvis) were amazing!!It was a delight everyday to speak with them. They went above & beyond to make our holiday special.Truly could not have been better. We renamed Noelvis to Elvis because he is THE KING!!He introduced us to our amazing tennis pro(and new friend) Alejandro(works @memories) My partner celebrated his 50th birthday & Frank& Noelvis(and so many other employees) went to great legnths to make sure it was special.Muchisimas gracias!! Our new friend Maurio made sure we had a great day everyday on the beach & was so helpful & informative.Jeni, who works with Maurio was a fantasic & funny guy with excellent english & writing skills,he taught us how to play dominos. We can`t wait to come back to this gorgeous resort & will look forward to the changes & improvments( hard to imagine they can make it better but I know they will ) Thank you to all our new friends:Noelvis,Frank,Maurio,Jeni,Janet,Franko,Emilio(El Musculo),Alex&Daniel&Diamey(great bartenders:thanks for the spanish lessons),Sol Maria,Raydell,Midiala & so many other people that made our holiday special We miss you & look forward to seeing you again. Our rating for The Royalton is 11 out of 10!!!

When we arrived we were greeted by a tri singing to our groupe. A beverage and cold towel. Wow, before we new it we were escourted to our room. We had asked for a room on ground floor close to the pool. We were right beside the pool and the walkway to the beech, it was fantastic. The service is excellent anywhere we went. The food was very good, way better then we expected. We did go to Memories one afternoon, but quickly came back to the Royalton. There is no comparition, one was very busy and the other so tranquile! The beach was fabulous at both resorts. You are catered to everywhere you go at the Royalton.Without a doubt, this will be the best hotel in Cayo Santa Maria. A special mention to Liamdere at the Pool bar (go Jays go) and Felix at the snack bar. They were just awsome! In fact, the entire staff should give themselves a pat on the back. Everyone displayed the best customer service we have ever seen. We had a special dinner one night arranged by our butler Yari that was totally incredible. Both restaurants had live entertainment each evening, playing very nice dinner music. If you like lobser and shrimp, then you will enjoy there many dishes. We had a late flight on our return and were given the privaledge of a 4pm check-out. When we loaded the bus, the main staff (approx 10-12 people) stood there with their right hands on their heart and all smiled and waved as we drove off. Honestly, I would like to keep this place a quiet secret but it would be impossible. We will plan our next vacation at this resort. CUDO's to the management, they really do know how to make people feel great!!!! Cheers to all.

Room Tip: Our room was 0606 and in a perfect spot.

We just got from the Royalton and I already have the Royalton blues.
We miss our butler, great meals, super service ALWAYS with a smile, always clean, uncluttlered and quiet.
We were looking for a quiet, pampered vacation, with a great beach, great food and that is exactly what what we got + more.
Now if you are into stand in-line buffets, loud music and a more lively environment ... just walk over or get driven to the neighbouring Memories resorts and go for it (free access), but when you come back to the Royalton, it is like coming back home.
In the evening, a little classical music and I even had a Cointeau or two to sip on.
Thanks to Julie and her staff for making our short stay a great one!

A REAL 5 STAR RESORT!

We just came back from an amazing time at Royalton Cayo Santa Maria and we can’t wait to go back again! You cannot go wrong with this brand new resort and its 5-star everything! Champagne, lobster, service, butlers, food, rooms, bathrobes, slippers, room-service, turn-down service every night and the best of all, no buffets! All restaurants are a la carte including breakfast! This is the first all-inclusive we’ve ever been to without coming out of the restaurants smelling like food! Beverages from lobby bar to beach bar are awesome, all liquors are included and they don’t run out! It is a bit quiet and perfect for an all relaxing vacation; there is one amazing show that they do in the pool wow! We had never seen such beautiful entertainment before apart from the usual shows they play in all-inclusive resorts. The hotel is a new concept that is already working out well after only a few weeks, I can only imagine in a year! Hopefully we’ll be lucky enough to go back and see it! Keep it up Royalton, you rock!
