Upon arrival we were greeted with a wonderful smile from the staff and our room keys along with a drink. We had room 1822 with a spectacular view of the ocean and the small beach, doesn't get any better than at sunset when you can sit on your deck have a glass of champagne and watch the sunset. The room was beautiful and clean with all the nice little amenities that we always have to pack. Even a bathrobe and slippers, nice touch. Your "butler" is more of a helper so don't go there if all you want is to have someone wait on you, he can book your reservations, order your dinner, take care of your luggage etc, but don't take advantage of them, they work to hard! There is no buffet on the property but you won't go hungry by any means and you can go to the other 2 Melia's to eat at the buffet or have your butler make you a reservation at the restaurants. It was nice to get dressed up and go to the other hotels, like having date night all the time. There is a free shuttle that runs between the properties, although you can't rent a scooter there or get a taxi, so you get on the bus and order those at the other Melia's. The resort is very small and quaint, we loved it. Staff is wonderful! All of them, not just one person stood out here, they all did. Please make sure you take some gifts for them as they are all grateful for anything you bring. Razors/Band-Aids/first aid kits/aspirin/any type of clothing and shoes/toothpaste is a very welcome gift also. Yes it doesn't take much to spoil those people, remember they may look like us dressed in their uniforms, but off the property you will see a completely different looking staff. So treat them with respect, they work hard and deserve a break, for a few dollars we can make a huge difference in someone's life! Give a little gift to all! Gloves for the gardener, oven mitts for the cooks, soft shoes for the cleaners, perfume from the dollar store is even a big hit there, anything....use your imagination. If you were living in a third world country what would you want? Pack some clothes you don't want and leave them there when you go home. Have a great time! PS The piano bar is wonderful as is the spa!
