“Just amazing”

Great Motel, that looks totally new. We booked the cheapest room (58$ weekday), which was spacious, clean and very very nice. That was the cheapest accommodation we found in town, and probably the most beautiful.

There is a BBQ-Place outside with everything you need (also mikrowave and water heater) and a beach volley ball field.

Just across the street there is a small park and a gorgeous lake access only for registered guests of the motel. The lake is just beautiful there and the sunsets amazing.

The only thing we missed was a fridge in the room. But anything else was perfect. Would love to stay there again.

We rented a King room with a jacuzzi. Room was spacious and clean. This section was built in 2006. Paid $75 (weekday). Motel has sunset viewing deck across the road, outdoor picnic area with bbq's, microwave and toasters. Clean and well maintained as well. Is about a 5 minute walk from the harbour and main shopping area. We were there before May long weekend when town was still quiet and peaceful.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom luxury chalet cottage (Unit 34). It was very clean and comfortable. We made good use of the kitchen to make breakfast and dinner. The cottage is not on the waterfront however a close walk to the harbour and the "downtown" area. The only complaint about the cottage was the water quality. It was very rusty. The shower heards were also covered in rust due to the water. When I first went to use the washroom it seemed the toliet had not been flushed. I flushed the toilet and it had the same result. I checked the water tank and it was also rust covered. The water was the same throughout even in the kitchen. Checking into a cottage I was not expecting luxury so it wasn't something we couldn't live with. Over all I would recommend it. A must see is the Grotto, and do also climb down.

The motel was extremely clean . Its a 1 minute walk to the ferry or harbour so the location cant be beat. Has I private patio for quests across the street on the bay. They have a bbq area for all to use which is great if you have kids and want to cook yourself.

This is in no way a five star but is simply Nice , Clean and Reasonably priced. I think I paid 130 cdn a night for two queens.... August weekend, saturday night only , and it was one of the last rooms in town and they could have easily charged me substantially more .

Close to ferry to Manitoulin Island.

Got waterfront room with 2 Double queens. Included new Mini fridge with freezer that could only fit something about 4" high. Bed linens were fairly soft. And bathroom linens were relatively plush.

No coffee maker in room but staff gladly put on a new pot when asked. Of course this is during office hours. They have a small outside pavilion with a microwave, toaster and kettles that are open fro about 8 in morning to about 11 pm. They also have 2 BBQs there to use as well.

Very close to Big tub marina. less than 5 mins walk.

Good value.

We stayed in the Bruce Anchor for a couple of nights in July after extensively researching all the hotels in Tobermory. Things that were important to us: close walking distance to town, ferries etc, quiet at night (no bar attached), king bed, fridge for storing food, A/C, not too expensive. We chose one of the king luxury suites on the second floor and were very pleased with it. Based on all the reviews I'd read of Tobermory hotels, I knew not to expect anything like a 4-star hotel in a major city but I dreaded that we might walk into a dirty noisy place. We didn't. Bruce Anchor was clean, comfortable, quiet, close to everything - it was great!
We were also pleasantly surprised when we arrived that they had just built an outdoor picnic area that includes a large cabinet with microwaves, kettles etc, so it was very easy to have some meals on the cheap outside. (The grocery store is just a short walk away.)
The only thing that was not quite as expected is that the balcony doesn't really offer a view of the lake (I guess if you crane your neck right across the intersection it does), but it didn't really matter to us because the lake is right across the street and Bruce Anchor guests have access to a beautiful private deck right on the water - perfect for watching the sunset.
A general warning: When we drove into Tobermory, I was surprised at how far some of the other hotels I'd considered are from the main strip on the bay. If you see another hotel that says 5 or 10-minute walk, just know that it's a walk on Highway 6 with cars rushing by you - there is nothing pretty about it. Make sure you check out the hotel locations on an online map. It may not look like it's far away, but once you see the walk, you'd rather drive.
Overall, thumbs up for Bruce Anchor.

We stayed here for a stop over before taking the ferry the next morning. Had 2 ground floor rooms (9 & 10) Was not bad, we paid $66 for our room, 2 double beds. Rooms are pretty spacious, lot's of room. Could use a new look, but everything was fine, AC worked, shower was decent... only negative part was our television. We had adjoining rooms, our friends had all the channels up to 54 or whatever... we had channels 2-13, thats it, old crappy television's. However for a room to sleep in just for a night it's perfect, right outside the hotel is where you line up for the ferry so great for that if you catching the ChiCheemaun to Manitoulin Island.
