Owner description: The Grotto, in Bruce Peninsula National Park, is one of the top tourism attractions in Ontario. A shoreline sea cave with the beautiful blue waters, the Grotto is a unique natural wonder and memorable place to experience. It is also a very popular and busy location, especially during the peak season of July and August and on long weekends. At those times, the parking lot will fill up and you may not be able to access the Grotto.

“Wow! Just Wow!!!”

My family visited the Grotto as part of our trip to Bruce Peninsula and i have to say we were very impressed. From the beautiful water color to the crystal clear blue waters of the lake. This was one of the most beautiful things i have seen and trust me i have seen lot's of things. One thing you have to make sure you bring is a pair of good shoes. You know, the beach is rock and you have to climb down a wall of a cliff to get down. So keep that in mind! And of course bring a camera to capture the unforgettable colors of the Grotto cave!

“Couldn't believe our eyes!”

The grotto is truly singular when it comes to the best Canada has to offer - I couldn't believe I had lived in Ontario for most of my life and had never been here. That being said, there were a lot of people there, however it didn't take away from the breathtaking beauty of the scenery... come prepared with good walking shoes, swimming gear, snacks, water, bug spray and a fully-charged camera. Please make sure you take your garbage with you when you leave!

“It takes all kinds...”

and you sure see them at the Grotto! It was a great lesson in DANGER for my kids. The crowds interested in cliff jumping make the feat life threatening. We saw a pregnant woman evacuated dogs running loose. This area requires decent shoes, decent water awareness, decent health and physical condition. The federal government should probably put more money into managing the crowds and behaviour in this area.

“Very overcrowded.”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

This is a beautiful location but sadly very over crowded. There did not appear to be any Park guides here and the crowds and litter problem was very upsetting to see. It was literally stepping over bodies to move. I would not go back and hope the Park gets control of this area.
