Owner description: The Grotto, in Bruce Peninsula National Park, is one of the top tourism attractions in Ontario. A shoreline sea cave with the beautiful blue waters, the Grotto is a unique natural wonder and memorable place to experience. It is also a very popular and busy location, especially during the peak season of July and August and on long weekends. At those times, the parking lot will fill up and you may not be able to access the Grotto.

It is a little difficult to find, because the cave is actually below the cliff. Had I not seen 2 people sitting and chatting down there, I had no idea I have to descend on the cliff to get to the cave. The other way would be to swim in from the beach, but that is not an option when you have your camera and tripod with you. Try to go in the morning, as the cave will probably glow up with the sun still in the East. If you go in the afternoon, it is less spectacular.

A great hiking adventure through the forest and through the rocks! Next time I want to go in the summer and swim in those beautiful waters! Bring a picnic and a good camera and enjoy the incredibly blue waters.

This is a must see!!! It is amazing to see water like this in Ontario. You are quickly reminded that this isn't the Caribean once you jump in and feel the temperature of the water! I highly recommend that you bring snorkle masks so you can get a better look under the water, and even better yet if you are a diver!
Don't be afraid of the cold water, jump in, its refreshing.
Amazing area. Wear shoes that you can hike and climb rocks in!! Well worth the trip!!

The Grotto is located, apparently, near a national park. So, after motoring for about 20 minutes to get their, we found a bunch of people diving from the rocks and enjoying the area. To access the dive site, we dropped in about 50 feet from the shoreline, foiund the two boulders marking the entrance of the pass through and surfaced inside the grotto - fabulous! We were greeted by a number of tourists who were snapping off photos. We cruised out the second opening and enjoyed the sunny shallows before heading back out to the boat. Tremendous!

The grotto is arguably one the best most naturally beautiful areas in Canada. The water looks like it belongs in the Caribbean, the trees and the cliffs all make for a beautiful, picturesque area. The trails and paths into the grotto have been maintained and are highly accesable considering they are meant to be hiking trails. Take the family, have a picnic a nice hike and maybe even a dip in the cold water, is there a better way to spend a beautiful and hot summer day.
