As a previous poster mentioned, it isn't really a traditional lighthouse. They automated the light, so it is a metal pole. The reason to make the hike is the bathrooms, the picnic spots and views. Not for the lighthouse.
Once you visit the flowerpots, you have seen the highlight of the island. If you are tired of hiking, don't bother with the lighthouse. You can see it from the water if you arrive on the Blue Heron cruise. You can see the picture I posted from the water.
