Bob & Maria are the best B&B hosts, ever! We had a queen size bed that was VERY comfortable; extra soft sheets. Slept like a rock. Guido Molinari was a famous Italian artist who lived many years in Montreal. He was the uncle of Maria, and the B&B is named after him. But, Bob and Maria do not have the last name of Molinari. We had dinner at their restaurant, and the food was great.

This B&B is nothing short of spectacular. A stay here will enhance your stay in Tobermory.

Rooms are clean, spacious, well layed out and are tastefully and modernly decorated.

The Molinari's are fantastic hosts and will make sure you get the most out of Tobermory.

We stayed at Molinari's July 27 - 30th, 2010. It was an excellent vacation, the bed and breakfast was superb! The room was very comfortable, the location was excellent and the food was wonderful. Our host and hostess were very happy to offer tips on what to see and they took time from their very busy schedules to meet with their guests. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast. We will certainly be back next year for another visit - hopefully for a longer stay as Tobermory rejuvinates the body and soul. Thank you Marie-France and Bob for operating an excellent business - second to none!

We definitely made the right choice staying with the Molinaris. This is the nicest B&B we have ever stayed at. We had the chance to stay in two different rooms during our stay, both beautifully decorated and comfortable. The rooms are equipped with fridges, televisions, and everything else you need. Two of the rooms have a balcony at the back of the house, while the third room offers plenty of inside space including a large bathroom. The rooms are all spotlessly clean with modern finishes that are rare in B&Bs.
The Molinaris are extremely kind and welcoming people. The breakfast they provided included many different options, and they were willing to cook eggs or pancakes for a small fee. They baked scones, muffins, and cookies as well. They were available to get us anything that we needed. You could eat in the dining area, or outside on the patio.
Upon arrival, Mrs. Molinari provided very helpful information about sites, activities, shops, and restaurants in the area. This kind of service is extremely rare. She provided maps and brochures that proved to be very helpful.
I highly recommend this B&B if you are planning to visit the Bruce Peninsula. We hope to go back and visit again one day.

Although new at the B&B business, Bob and Maria, the hosts of Molinari's in Tobermory, definitely are professional when it comes to hospitality. Maria took the time to provide us with an excellent, in-depth tourist package. She highlighted for us the sights that were a must-see and were tailored to what we wanted to experience. Bob hosted the breakfasts during our stay and loved to tell us stories about his and Maria's scuba diving experiences.
The room was nicely decorated; the bed was very comfortable. Their concern that our stay was enjoyable was their number one priority. They took the time at the end of our stay to ask us about ways to improve the experience there.
The only improvement that we suggested was to expand the breakfast menu to include a wider variety of choices.
Maria was tireless in her enthusiasm and Bob was gracious in his hosting.
All in all, we would like to go back to Tobermory and wouldn't hesitate to stay at Molinari's again.

We almost feel bad in regards to this review because if I had to rate the owners of this new B&B individually we would give them as people, five stars.
We would really like to see these entrepreneurs succeed but in order to do so they need to consider the following:

We have stayed at other bed and breakfast establishments and one of the first thing that we noticed is that there are no common areas. Other B&B's we've been to have a sitting room, deck or porch, sometimes a game room or even a den. This of course, is in addition to the dining area where everyone eats a good hearty breakfast together.
We had to pay for our stay up front because a couple not too long ago stayed for three days and then left without paying. My suggestion to the owners is to at least ask and verify the license plates of their patrons. We were fine with paying upfront, but with everything that fell short of a great stay, we felt a little taken advantage of.

We stayed in one of the rooms that you enter from the back of the house via the stairs. This is in a motorlodge format where your bedroom door is the outside door. There are two rooms on this side of the house and upon reaching the top of the stairs you naturally look to the window of the door of the first room. There is a lace blind but even myself only standing at 5'8" had an eye level over this blind. I could everything in the room and through the bathroom window. I suggest the owners add more private blinds to these doors and windows.

I suggest they clean all the cob webs outside near the room doors. Lucky for us, we are not the type of people that freak out at spiders, especially since one ended up on my back and hitch-hiked into the room.

The third thing I noticed was the bed. At least in the burgundy room, the bed is a pillowtop queen. Let me just say that pillowtops are not for me and my back.

Now here is the part that gets my goat more than ANYTHINGAt Molinari’s B&B you get yogurt, Frosted Mini Wheats, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cereal, Cheerios, Granola, variety of sliced breads (like Wonder), peanut butter, jam, nutella, concentrate orange juice, coffee, and milk. There is a bowl of red apples, green apples and nectarines. If you are lucky they will be cooking up some fresh scones for their restaurant. Although, this is only possible if you sleep in and eat a late (9:30ish) breakfast. Another couple staying there also felt the same as we did. We all went digging in their fridge and found some cheese and ring sausage. To top all this off, my wife is lactose intolerant which limited her to toast and the sausage we all found. By the way, we ate all the sausage the first day and so she just had toast the second day. For being in an area that requires a lot of energy for all the tourism, that is just a shame. Also, we emailed ahead of time telling them of the dairy sensitivity. For the money we paid, we thought there would at least be some sort of effort to accommodate. I feel so strongly about this because I expect to have a proper breakfast, not something I eat on the go when I have no other choice. When we asked where the real food was, we were told that we can have eggs or pancakes for $7 each. For $115 per night at a Bed and Breakfast, we expected a Bed and Breakfast. *See review title for new name suggestion*

We went to their restaurant and one thing that we suggest to the owners, is not to charge your patrons $1.99 for shredding some Parmesan cheese over an Italian dish. It is an Italian dish after all, and Parmesan is just part of it, hands down. I was very irritated. Our first night, we didn’t get fully settled until late and when we mentioned we were heading out to find some dinner she mentioned the town shuts down early and there probably was no place open. She offered to make use some spaghetti and meat sauce but to be frank, we were scared we would be charged more than we were willing to pay, even though there was no mention of a charge.

By then end of the trip, we wondered if the people who escaped without paying experienced similar feelings.

There is a lot of potential in the sleepy little town. We hope the super friendly Molinari owners use this information to improve their B&B and restaurant, and not see it as an attack.

We really like the furniture though. It was all solid wood and the decor was very nice. You get your own clean private bathroom with plenty of hot hot water. The soap was one of those expensive kind with the bits of things inside that exfoliate your skin. The shampoo and conditioner was nice too. Although we didn't use them, there were really nice fluffy bathrobes. Everything in the room was super clean and fresh. They have a nice little flat screen on the hardwood dresser with satellite TV. Each room has a mini fridge, microwave and coffee machine. You are always welcome to use the coffee machine in the kitchen though, as the coffee is much better. With a sliding door on the front of the house and windows in the back you get a nice breeze. There is a ceiling fan if you get hot.

All in all, it is difficult to give an overall rating of this place, as there are improvements to be made while other areas are very nice. Most of all, I can not stress enough how nice and sweet the owners are.

I'm sorry to say, but at this very moment, I would not yet recommend this place to a friend, but maybe in the future.
