What more can I say. Wonderful setting. Room basic but all you need is close by in the village.

Overall a fantastic stay! The beds and bathroom were clean and adequate, the motel is a little tired in places but nothing concerning. Everything else about this motel was A+...the customer service was outstanding and the location was perfect, just above the dock of the Little Tub harbour right behind the Manitoulin Island ferry terminal and less than a 1 minute walk to restaurants and shops, 5 minutes walk to EVERYTHING in Tobermory. The price was excellent at $115 per night and that included 2 for 1 tickets on a glass bottom boat tour of the shipwrecks and boatride to and from Flowerpot Island. That saved us almost $50 right there! (Highly reccommend Blue Heron Boat tours, they have many tour options available and many different types of boats to choose from as well)
Some of the rooms- 8,9, 10, 11, 12- all have a back padio sliding glass door that opens onto a small lawned area with picnic tables and chairs to sit and watch the people and the boats in the harbour. It was a great place to relax, have a drink or two and meet new people. It is elevated just enough to give an amazing view and maintain a little privacy.
I would highly reccommend this hotel as long as you are not someone who requires
800-threadcount egyptian cotton sheets and champagne room service.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms that open up onto the lawned area overlooking the harbour. We stayed in Room 9 an...

We stayed here on the recommendation of friends, as the place to stay before getting the ferry in the morning. The motel is clean, the people are friendly and it is very conveniently located directly across the from the ferry and close to shops and restaurants. With your stay, you also receive a discount of buy one get one free for the Sunset Cruise around Tobermory.

We went with the intention that we need a bed to sleep in to rest up for days of activity and that is just what we got...a comfortable and clean room at a reasonable rate in the best location in Tobermory.
What a view we had from our back patio! Amazing place to watch the world go by on a busy, sunny day.
The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The place was busy as were most places in town. Next time we go we will plan and take food with us to BBQ on the patios.
The rooms might not be your typical Hilton or Marriott but for a locally run hotel it was well worth it.

Since I called a few places pretty late towards our intended stay most places were fully booked so we ended up staying here. It was just okay. The shower was actually pretty awful, the towels/ curtains/ bedspreads could all use a major revamp. This place was just average at best. You can't really beat the location but if I was going back I would try and book a classier place, this is at least clean but that's about it. They gave us a buy one get one free coupon for the flower pot island cruise, if we hadn't had the coupon and paid full price we would have been really upset b/c it was a rip-off not worth the cash for sure. Lousy tour.

Room 34. For CAN$141/nt we had 2 beds, a well-furnished kitchenette incl stove & fridge, use of party-sized raised deck, plus worked out so much cheaper when you factor in the complimentary voucher for the cruise, about a $33 value.

Very roomy for family of 4.

I could see it being too noisy with kids running on deck, or lacking privacy as other guests can use the deck to barbeque, esp if they blast the music, but worked well for us, we got to eat together with friends, the kids were kinda coralled in so we could relax.

Room Tip: If you get corner/end room 34, where deck is, bring safety pins for curtains to protect privacy. Avo...

Location, Location, Location!! Oh baby!! If your looking to be smack dab in the middle of the marina and all amenities, this hotel is for you. Harbourside is a simple average hotel, and its perfect for the visitor who is looking to be out and about more so than staying in! Our hotel room has a 3 piece bath (stand up shower), one double bed, sofa and coffee table. Two lamps, small dinning table with two chairs, a tv and a mini bar fridge.

Our experience was, customer service in the office was good. She warmed up to us quickly. Parking is right in front of your room. Two nice chairs out front for your room for lounging. When we walked in our room was SPOTLESS! The floors are all wood and shiny. So clean and nice. The room its self is just a room nothing fancy like the Hilton hotel. This hotel is great for those who are looking for a simple hotel that has all your basic services like lighting, tv, bathroom, stand up fan and heater. Coat rack, shelves and tables with storage.

We picked a room that was simple no A/C or extra features. The patio door leads out to the marina, We have a water view #9 room. Each room gets a picnic table. Rock walk ways leading down to the marina. The back yard at patio side has tons of seating, deck chairs that over look the water and lite up a night for socializing. This hotel back onto the harbour front you can see all the cruise boats, personal boats and canoes loading and taking off. All the stores are right here. 1 min walk from Chi-Cheemaun.

The only con for myself... it would be nice to have fire pits out back and public grills.

Next year when we come back... it will be Harbourside hotel. Unbelievable location.
