Four of us lunched outside enjoying the beautiful view, taking the 17EU "Menu del Dia" which included a good selection of typical Spanish cuisine.
Bread and a very passable wine was included.
Before the main meal, we were brought a small surprise appetiser of chicken soup - a nice touch.
My own first course was a "Hojaldre" (Puff Pastry) with a creamy sauce of prawn and leek. Delicious!
For the second course, we all ordered the lamb. Although described with garlic on the menu, the waiter was perfectly happy to arrange for the garlic to be omitted for those who didn't like it. The lamb arrived in various different cuts (ribs, shank etc) but all were generous portions and very much enjoyed!
Service was friendly and acceptably prompt - the waiter even remembered some members of our party from a visit some time ago. English was spoken well.
I'd definitely visit La Cocineta again.
