“Ideally placed for the ski slopes”
Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

I have just returned from my second years holiday staying in Les Valmonts. It is ideally situated being right next to the Bruyeres gondola. If you aren't driving to the resort getting luggage to the accommodation is a bit of a pain as you need to carry it up stairs and drag it across snow to get there. Wifi costs €20 per week and is only available in the reception area. There is only one lift in the block which means you sometimes need to wait a while at busy times. However, the convienence of having the ski slopes so near outweighs these frustrations. If I go back to Les Menuires again I will definitely want to stay here.

Nice and simple chalet. Not very spacious, so you 'd better book a chalet for 4 persons and go only by 2 as we did. Especially with the material for wintersport, space might be a problem.
Situated on the skipiste. Parking (outdoor) is also nearby.
Near the shops and restaurants of Les Bryères and also La Croisette is only a 20 minutes walk away (romantic walk in the snow :-) )
When you check out you need to bring your laundry to the reception desk. This is a bit strange and not so practical to do. Internet connection is not overall very good and you need to pay for it. TV is available for free but there are not many channels available. The beds are covered with a good oldtime sheet and blanket (no duvets).

I have spent five nights with my wife and my 7-year-old son on Pierre Vacances Les Valmonts from December, 13th to December, 18th. It was very hard to locate the hotel, there was absolutely no signs on the road to tell us where to go. It was our first time in the Alps, so we were not familiar with the area, it can be very confusing...we finally got there by 10 pm...and the reception was closed. We were exhausted from our trip from Paris to the Alps and it would be impossible to find another place to stay, people go to bed very early and everything was closed. Finally a very nice guy who worked and lived at the hotel showed up and gave us our keys...what a relief! The apartment is very nice, a wonderful view from the mountains, one bedroom, separate shower and toilet and a complete kitchen with all the appliances, which is a great advantage considering the price of everything in the mountains. Very quiet and warm, bed was confortable, shower was great. My son slept in the sofa bed in the living room, it is kind of annoying having to set it up every night, but not a total turn off. Right in front of the hotel there is a lift to take you to the top of the mountains. There is also a training piste and a school for both children and adults. After walking for about 5 minutes you reach a small village where we can find restaurants, littles shops and a Sherpa (expensive, I suggest you go to Carrefour before going up). What I miss the most in this hotel is a laundry room and some vending machines, with soda, candies and so on. The girls at the reception were very nice. You have to return all the towels and the linen used at the reception at the time of check out and keep the kitchen clean. Overall a good cost and a fun stay!

The accommodation itself is average, especially if you look at what you pay for it. I would recommend going to L'Adonis instead.

One great feature of the residence is its location near the skilift Bruyeres. If you are not a good skier the access to the lift from this residence is better than from L'Adonis.

This is an excellent little apartment with a single bedroom and pull out bed in the lounge. My girlfriend and I were searching hard for an apartment that was a reasonable price but also included a double bed.

We were suprised that this hotel offered excellent value along with friendly service, and direct access to the slopes. You can ski directly to the foot of the Hotel, and is only a 20 second walk to the lift, which is situated next to the hotel.

Although it describes is as a 3/4 person apartment, I wouldn't try and have 4 people staying unless they are 2 children. I had my brother in the lounge for the week and any more would have felt like we were climbimg over one another.

All in all, a great little apartment with great access to the slopes. Infact we liked it that much that we have already booked again for next year, and redcomended to all of our friends.

Stayed with my family. Apartments are small (like all French ski apartments) but warm and comfortable. Very good access to Les Bruyers lift but Les Valmonts is on the edge of Les Menuires so its a long way to some of the other facilities.

Its not well served by the shuttle bus, in theory the bus runs to the front door on Saturdays but not always. Otherwise its a difficult walk over the piste.

If you arrive by car there is a big car park - no problem.

The apartments are in blocks. The best is A block level 1 to 9 as the lift from reception goes straight there and ski lockers goes straight there. A 11 to 13 means changing a lift - we did this and it was OK. The other blocks are less easy to get to but still OK in my view.

Les Valmonts is situated in an excellent position for skiers, with the beginners slope directly outside, cable cars a minute's walk away and all the other facilities i.e.Supermarket, shops, restaurants, lift facilities to slopes very close by.

We had a wonderful view from our window and balcony. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. Reception staff are very friendly. The accommodation is also very well equipped i.e. good central heating system, t.v., pots and pans etc.

Because of the design of the building, noise can sometimes be heard from other apartments e.g. doors banging, furniture being moved, flushing toilets etc.

Half-term in February is very busy, so you have to be prepared for queues when travelling to Les Menuires, and also queues for cable cars etc.

Would definitely return.
