My husband came here for our 25th wedding anniversary. The whole trip was magical. The service here is impeccable. It is spotlessly clean everywhere you go. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much bother, they do work so jolly hard but they are always happy and so friendly. The accommodation was fantastic we stayed in one of the stilted huts with steps down to the sea. We did one trip dolphin watching and it was amazing. The hotel even had a movie set up on the beach for us with popcorn and cocktails it was really fun. Dream of the day we go back!

Stayed 1st July 2014 -10th July 2014 and had a wonderful time. If its peace and quiet you want then this place is great. Food and drink all very good and plenty of it. We had a beach villa which was lovely and our room boy kept it clean with plenty of toiletries and clean towels everyday ( Thank You !!!!).
All the staff were so lovely, very polite and couldn't do enough to make your stay a pleasant one ( Thank You All !!!) ISO was simply an amazing guy , we saw him every night at the Crabs restaurant for our drinks on the beach . He always found the time to have a chat which was lovely Thank You Iso!!!
Whilst we were there we went on the try dive and a dive with MAGIC and he was BRILLIANT, he made us feel so safe in his hands and we will never forget the experience. He is so compassionate about his job which he is wonderful ( so if you decide to go diving , go with him!! ) Thank You Magic ( Our friend).
I have to mention also Rubin, who made the most lovely salads up for us everyday they were so Yummy and fresh. He told us about the garden where they grow a lot of their own veg etc, this was nice to see they work very hard in the garden.
ALL THE STAFF here need a mention, from the ladies sweeping the gardens to the gentlemen on the boat trips, Robert who entertained every evening with his lovely music, the staff in reception also as they make this place what it is, A Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing destination which we would love to go back too.

Room Tip: We had a beach villa which we thought was great, you really don't need to spend extra on a wate...

We decided to have a return visit to Chaaya Lagoon as we had enjoyed the diving so much when we were there in March this year. Neither the diving nor the resort disappointed on our second visit. All of the points made in my previous posting still hold true. We found the dive sites thriving with healthy coral and an abundance of fish. The dive center were very accommodating in ensuring that we dived a variety of sites with different highlights. Sharks, mantas, eagle and sting rays, turtles and so much more. We would highly recommend this island for those who enjoy diving but don't want to be sharing the dive sites with other dive boats. The resort staff as always were extremely helpful and always smiling. The little touches and attention to detail made our stay very special. There have been some improvements to the restaurant since out last visit. The variety and quality of the food was exceptional. Lots of choice, something for everyone. As I mentioned in my last posting this island is very popular with Chinese guests and my one tip would be to dine at least 30 minutes after the restaurant opens after which time it becomes quite quiet. We stayed in a beach villa which has the added benefit of sun loungers on the beach with ample shade (which was needed) provided by large wooden umbrellas. The island is very clean and tidy. No need for adaptors as the accommodation and 3 pin square UK compatible sockets.
I would definitely recommend this island for that idyllic get away from it all holiday.

We visited Chaaya Lagoon 21st June to 5th July 2104 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

On arrival we were greeted by a member of staff who escorted us to the reception where we met Lyn and her heads of staff. Check in was quick. We stayed in a water bungalow (number 131) when we walked in we were amazed at the size and the lovely view out to the edge of the lagoon to where the Indian Ocean was crashing waves against.

The water bungalow had a good sized bathroom, a huge bed and a seating area where there was a viewing window in the floor to see the goings on in the water underneath. There were patio doors which lead out onto our own veranda which also had steps leading down into the ocean. There is an internet router in your room. This is charged if you purchase the package to your account which you pay at the end of your stay. We did find this a little expensive and we also think that within today's modern day this should be within the price you pay for the bungalow.

We took scuba shoes to wear in the ocean not only because of possible dangerous fish but also there is a lot of coral which would cut your feet. At high tide the water still only comes up to your waist and at low tide you can walk out to the end of the lagoon looking at the sea life.

The staff were so friendly and knew your names and room number. When walking around the island they would always say hello to you. The restaurant was a good size and your table had your room number on it and this you sat at for the whole of your stay. The food was a slight disappointment. It wasn't kept hot, the meat was quite tough and food was focused mainly on the oriental people on the island. The doughnuts and pancakes are a must these are to die for.

We found the island prices a little expensive. we went dolphin watching for 55 USDollars each, we had a lovely romantic meal in a secluded part of the island for 310 USDollars (for a couple) and we also visited the spa for 300 USDollars (for a couple).. Everything is charged to your room and you pay this at the end of your visit. Everything bought at the shop also goes onto this bill. We did notice however that there is a 10% tax charge added and then a further 8% tax charge on top which is added onto your bill.

There is a couple of things you can do later on in the day. The stingrays are fed at the end of the jetty at 4.30pm and the sharks are fed at the end of the jetty at 9pm. Take a good torch as the torch that was supplied in the water bungalow wasn't much cop but there again we didn't use our torch much. In the evening we used our torch on our veranda to see the really long pipefish that came every night to the bottom of our steps.

We did have a couple of maintenance issues during our stay but a call to reception and the maintenance team were with you within minute and everything was fixed.

The most amazing experience is when you are on your sunbed on your veranda you suddenly see stingrays, exotic fish, turtles just swimming past. We also recommended snorkel equipment and a underwater camera.

There is also a spa on the island and we can recommend a massage, pedicure and a facial. It is so relaxing. There is also a gym but we did not visit this.

We would strongly recommend this location to anyone. It is complete paradise. no cars, no buses, no trains, no sirens, no screaming children....just paradise. You can walk around the island in twenty minutes and when you do this you don't see anyone other than the staff.

This was our 9th visit to the Maldives, (4th to Chaaya Group.)
Alas Raj has retired & his successor, far prettier, wish you well Raj for a long & happy retirement. Andreana is now front off manager who is a great ambassador for her company.

Most of the staff are the same as last year.
This year we had a guided tour by the head chef, Shanthi, of his scrupulously clean kitchen & shown by Ravi (noodle chef) how to make the perfect curry, which we had for lunch also a special meal cooked by the pasta chef. (sorry did not get your name).

Went on trip to see dolphins The captain managing to keep amongst them for ages.
Also went Island Hopping & 2 fishing trips where Bokiayya, Kamaau, & Kaimn did their best to catch our dinner.(which we ate the next day). (sorry about the spelling)

The bar staff always remember your name & room number & welcome you with a smile.
Thanks to Ruben, Lynne, & our very attentive & polite waiter Mahid.
You cant beat this resort for value for money & friendly & efficient staff.

Mr Lylnnda, you have a great team who are a credit to you & the resort, we will return to your wonderful paradise soon.

We went to this island a number of years ago when it was just Hakuraa Club so, when it came round for a milestone birthday, there was no doubt in my mind where I wanted to celebrate it. It had been a good few years and, of course, the Tsunami had been through between our visits. They did not let us down and we had a truly fabulous couple of weeks. We could not fault anything about the place - even the Manager Raj remembered our surname and came down the jetty to see if it was in fact us returning - what a great welcome. My opinion - the best place in the world, and I desperately hope to go back again one day!

Room Tip: Virtually all water bungalows, don't miss them.
