“Free ride with the sharks”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

Shark and ray feeding great, you actually are in the water whilst the feeding occurs! Coral gardens just ok, lots of fish but average coral. Lagoonarium fantastic, much larger sharks and rays, and if you,re brave grab a fin of a shark and enjoy the ride!! A much more enjoyable experience than anticipated.

“Terrible tour, don't waste your time or your money”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

This tour is terrible. The equipment is old and not nice, bring your own gear. We were told that we didn't need fins and now I know why, because you snorkel for 20 minutes total. The first stop are the rays and sharks. You're floating / standing in 4 feet of water with 40+ people looking at them. It was very crowded. The tour guides are goofing around with the rays, pretending to kiss them, etc. From there you go to a reef with lots of other boats. Your boat unloads and you snorkel for about 20 minutes bumping into other people. With no fins we just floated for 20 minutes and had to leave. The boat packs up and you travel 3/4 of the way around the island - probably 45 minutes to an hour to their island where you stay. The boat is open and not nice. You see penned up sharks, fish and turtles in maybe 3 feet of water. The tour guides again are goofing around with the animals. That's it - we paid for a full day but left on the half day boat.

We had far better snorkeling off the beach from our hotel. Go to Hawaii and it's incredible. Really don't waste your time with this.

“Excellent tour guides give you a great experience”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

Max and his 2 guys are awesome at what they do. They give you a really great experience of feeding the sharks, rays, and going to the lagoonarium to hang out with all the other critters. They offer half day (either afternoon and morning) or full day. I recommend the half day as they do 3 things - shark and ray feeding, coral reef snorkel, then end at the lagoonarium for a few hours with those creatures. Overall I highly recommend it.

“A fun filled beautiful day”
Reviewed October 25, 2013

We booked the all day Lagoonarium trip before we came to Bora Bora. And, we are so very glad we did! It was a great introduction to snorkeling in the Bora Bora Lagoons. They picked us up at our hotel, the LeMoana, and took us to the Lagoonarium dock. We were taken by boat to an area in the Lagoon near the coral reef, to swim with black tip reef sharks and sting rays. Our guides Max and Tomas MADE this trip! They were crazy fun, and right in there with you as you experience the Lagoon. It was in about 4-5 feet of water, and it was amazing! I felt very safe as I enjoyed my 1st experience snorkling. Tomas jumped in and coaxed some sting rays up to him and let us pet them. The water was teeming with other beautiful species of fish, and it was amazing. From there, we went to a beautiful coral garden area, which was 10- 20 ft deep. Again, I felt very comfortable snorkeling, and Tomas checked on me several times! My husband, a scuba diver, took advantage of the beautiful area and went deep and took some wonderful pictures. Each stop we had about 30-45 minutes to enjoy.

After the snorkeling, we boated around the Island of Bora Bora to the Lagoonarium. Yes, the turtles and sharks were in pens, so to speak, but what a wonderful experience to see these creatures in a little shallower water. For people not real sure of themselves in the water, this is a great introduction. We visited the rays, and I was able to actually hold one. In their biggest area, there is a coral garden, reef sharks, and lemon sharks to snorkel with. There was also a nice current to "float" along as you snorkeled and took it all in. We got out at the other end, and since we were in the all day group, they took the half day people back as we got to relax and were served a delicious polynesian lunch. After lunch, Max taught the "husbands" how to tie the pareos on some of us; He demonstrated about 4 different ways! Good to know.
We relaxed some more, then went back in the water for more floating. The boat returned a little later, and we joined the afternoon group and went through the "tour" again.

Max and Tomas were great, the food very tasty. An enjoyable day, and we recommend it!

“Don't go!”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

We wasted a whole day doing this tour. The open water snorkeling spots were nice but once we got to the Lagoonarium, it went downhill rapidly. The fish are in cages, how sad. After swimming with the sharks and rays, we were served lunch. It was okay. The restrooms were unacceptable, no toilet seats, one wasn't functioning and filled with human waste. The men were directed to use the bushes. After lunch, we were told we had "free time". There was nothing to do! The motu was fenced off so you couldn't even walk around. The lounge chairs were broken and dirty so there was no place to sit while waiting for the trip back. I felt like we paid a full day price for a half day excursion.
