With nearly ten years of ClubMed holidays and numerous different resorts to compare, we have a pretty good idea of service standards and are pleased to report Plantation d'Albion Mauritius more than deserved it's '5 Trident' rating.
Just about an hour by private taxi transfer from the airport and into our lovely club room on the beach. There are only four rooms in this particular class, but worth paying a little extra for the terrace with steps directly onto the beach. [ Note that the beach at the room-side is rocky rather than classically tropical - you will need reef shoes here. The beach at the sailing area is better, but still not the best - that would be at Flic and Flac 15min by taxi and worth a visit].
Fantastic GO staff from all around the world, English much more commonly spoken than most ClubMeds. We spent quite some time on sport activities each day and everyone was very friendly. Big shout-outs from 'Mr Paul' and 'Mrs Pam' to Ali (tennis), Midhou (sailing), Cedric and Chloe (archery), and all the land and water sports teams.
Food offerings at all times of the day were very good, along with the much appreciated bordering on enthusiastic waiter service. Highlight evenings included a spectacular White Night, and great shows by the Circus team and the talented Cedric on 'Michael Jackson' night.
Get the ClubMed App to follow the daily schedule and suggested dress code for each evening (it really makes packing choices easier).
Friday appeared to be a quiet day on the sports schedule and Francia from concierge services helped arrange a car and driver with Budget rent-a-car for a whole day tour of the south of the island (our driver was called Keegan and he was excellent). Expect to pay €80-100 but well worth the effort.
Usually a review would finish with the negatives or areas for improvement, but after much thought from the two of us, nothing significant comes to mind - just a 'well done' and 'please keep up all the good work'.
Two suggestions for Chef de Village JB; try a 'coffee quiz' event (e.g. general knowledge or similar) at the bar around 14.00 as a regular part of the day - this can really draw GM's together (works well at Bodrum, Turkey). And finally, some water at bocce ball (drinking, but mainly for washing dusty hands).

From the moment you arrive you feel at home, everybody is so friendly, you eat by yourself only if you want. shared a table for quite a few lovely meals with some GO´s. The service is impeccable in all areas of the club. The food is delicious. If it were not so far for me, I think I would go very often (maybe relocating would be something I could think about.)

We visited club med albion for the first time on 2810 after having visited club med la pointe aux canonniers. We booked for a day package from Mari deal and as usual I will start with the cons

Cons:
We reached the hotel gate at around 9:45 and we were told by the security it’s too early and you come back at 9:55. The check in time is 10:00. We came back at 10:00 and we had to queue at the reception for more than 20 minutes. So if the check in time is at 10, does it mean that when someone comes 10 to 15 minutes before you don’t allow him to get in. What about the waiting time we had to wait at the reception which makes the check in delayed. Does it mean that you don’t want to sell to Mauritian and why is it advertise on MariDeal. If this is the type of service you want to give to Mauritian then you should sell to tourist only

Secondly we came to the bar and there was a woman named “maita “ who is ill mannered. Forgot about no greetings she was very rude and looks that she was forced to do the job. I requested if the Mauritian dodo cocktail could be done without alcohol and she said no “ pa kav faire san alcool” so I requested for a cranberry drink without alcohol and my husband took à cognac. She gave us the drinks with anger and no thanks in anyway. Is this how the staff of 5 star hotel look after customers. Do they look down upon Mauritian

Pros:
Thank to a guy named ray to whom I asked later on during the day if the Mauritian dodo cocktail could be made without alcohol and he said yes and made it with a smile . Such people deserves a thump up

The service at restaurant was good as well. Since am pregnant there was one girl who even took my plate

Overall the hotel is fine but people with bad attitude should not be tolerated

This is an excellent place to spend a relaxing week at. From Sydney however the travel is long, taking a full day to get there and a full day to get back. We stayed in a suite and it was very large and beautifully decorated though it is starting to look a little tired. You can hire a taxi driver at the excursions desk to take you to any destination and they will wait for you.....probably the best way to see the place.

We spent 3 nights there after 9 night in the other ClubMed in Mauritius.
Bottom line: both are good for families.
This one is supposed to be more luxurious. BUT, while the food is exceptional and the Adults Only Zen pool is nice, all the rest is actually better in the other ClubMed.

Most rooms don't have sea view and they can use renovation. The beach is NOT great and on the weekend full of locals and noisy.

The kids club is great. Our 5 & 3 years old daughters had a great time.
The Chef Dear Village is doing a great job making sure his staff (G.O.s) are treating the guests well.

All in all, a good experience, but won't go there again. If I am back to Mauritius I'll go back to the Pointe Aux Cannoniers ClubMed rather to this one.

Recently returned from a week at La Plantation.

family of 4. Kids club was good, my youngest is 2yes 8 months, he had a good time, their could be better English speaking child minders but this in no way changed the experience. They are excellent. I found ALEX from the kids club to be totally RUDE and Arrogant, i would not have him run my kids club, but besides him, staff excellent.

Special congratulations to VIDYA in room service, she is possibly the most efficient and kind person I've met, she is excellent!

This was our second visit to La plantation Albion and was even better than the first time if that was possible. The standard of service was excellent from the attentive Chef of village to the room maids. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The food was magnificent as one would expect from Club Med with daily choices from different cultures all served and cooked to a first class standard.
The choice of waiter service at La Phare restaurant on the waterfront was a real treat. The shows were good but the themed "white night" with trapeze and dinner by the pool was excellent and very professionally done.
Peace and quiet could always be found on one of the two beaches or by the Zen pool.
This is Club Med at its best with excellent service and great value for money in a beautiful resort .
A great final touch was the Chef de Village coming personally to say goodbye on our departure - only at Club Med!
We have returned home happy and relaxed. Thank you.
