Very pleasant stay ! Food amazing, probably the best we have ever had in Mauritius.Excellent snorkelling, pity there is no waterskiing, but understandable, considering you are so close to the reef. Staff very friendly. Zen pool is stunning, very tranquil.

Room Tip: Beach Suites look stunning, we were near the Zen pool, which was great. Quite far from everything th...

This was our very first Family vacation out of south africa and it was magnificent. We were tended to from the word go. The resort or village is stunning. We arrived to hot and humid conditions but the welcome party was amazing with refreshments waiting for us on arrival. David from reception was so energetic...great passion. Before you know it, we were all checked in, lovely spacious rooms, just five minutes from reception...ewe probably only saw the inside of those rooms when we slept. Kids were excited and the huge pool so inviting. The one thing about Club Med is there is always lovely music, entertainment and food. The pancakes and Nutella were a hit with my kids between lunch and dinner. The Mini Club run by Chief Alex made my kids feel at home, Daphnee and Aurora genuinely took to my kids and they made their Club Med experience so enjoyable and their smiles and energy amazing. Thanks Guys! Lulu-coconut head , you have the most amazing talents, the kids adored you....all your funny faces and tricks and dancing...not a moment of boredom with you...thank you for making this memorable for the kids. Flo and Eric from junior club...you guys rock...its always helpful when your 12yr old is having the most amazing time. Day one, we were already having chef prepared meals and such a variety so that even the fussiest of eaters will have a feast. There was Italian, Indian, french, english, Mauritian ...too much to mention. My favorite was the Oysters and Sea urchin...mmmm. The great thing is that the village is big...you never feel like theres too man people around and you are at ease. Archery with Will was also quite a hit...he was patient and the kids quite enjoyed. It was great that they could experience Archery, Trapeze, Tennis, Sailing, Snorkeling ,Kayaking....all at the Mini club so that my hubby and I could relax at the Zen pool on the other side of the village. Cassie from Trapeze and circus team- girl you got so much passion for life...its contagious ...lovely. The sailing team with David, Marie, Kevin and Marco and Parm..such a wonderful experience with you guys, your smiles and your zest for what you do is so inspiring, the snorkeling was fantastic...the water was clear and we got to see so much.Marco had dinner with us a few times and we learnt so much from you. David took the kids on an adventure with the sailing. The Bar at the beach kept those amazing cocktails coming...thanks Kalaish and Akash for the smiles and being so good to us. The shows and themed evenings made our stay extra special, Bollywood evening, Mauritian evening, Music Factory, MadaAfrica, the Trapeze with Marcello and all the amazing decor. Barq, firstly you have and amazing amazing team of GO's and GE's ...you have fantastic taste and have made our holiday most memorable. C'est La Vie! you guys rock

Had the most amazing holiday here! Did not want to leave.
The staff were always friendly and helpful, the room was superb and the resort itself was breathtaking.
Do yourself a favour and partake in the various excursions - completely worth it - we even saw dolphins!
We stayed in a sea view suite - worth the extra money - the room was large and had a balcony.
The food and beverages was excellent.

Room Tip: We had a sea view suite overlooking the zen pool - PERFECT!

Having already had 3 fantastic holidays with Club Med last year, we had no reservations about booking another when we decided to spend Christmas away. This is supposed to be one of their best resorts and we were very disappointed, this is the only Club Med we have ever visited that we would never return to.
The resort itself is lovely, great rooms, beautifully maintained. The beach is really nice but public, and sales people are on the beach all day every day with clothes jewellery etc. Most Club Meds feel more secure, I wouldn't have been happy letting younger children than mine (13 & 10) wander around on their own.
The biggest problem is the hotel service which is nothing short of appalling. There are loads of bar staff and they quickly come and take your drinks order, but half the time the drinks will not turn up and you have to re-order or get them yourself. If you start by trying to get them yourself you are pointed towards the seats and told to order them - very frustrating. The restaurant service is exceedingly poor, the staff are very friendly and pleasant , but completely incompetent ,incapable of even setting a table. The Christmas Eve buffet which should have been the highlight of our stay was a disaster due to poor service and rude staff. Having endured an hour of being shouted at and gone from no table to a hastily thrown together table in the rain, the manager justified it by assuring us that he was doing his best. The worst thing is I believe him. This is not 5 star service, 5 star hotels are the best because they employ competent, capable, appropriately trained people.
The Club Med activities seemed to fall out of the general hotel disaster zone, it felt as though they had been tagged onto Fawlty Towers. There are very good facilities but for us it was too humid to play tennis etc, but we are English!
The food was generally very good, but about half of it is aimed at the Chinese guests. There are very limited salad options available, this was very disappointing.
Having stayed at Sinai Bay earlier in the year which is only a 4 trident resort we were very disappointed. It doesn't match yet alone exceed Sinai Bay, particularly for food, service and atmosphere. As for being a 5 star resort, no way. Having recently returned from The Danielli we know what 5 star service is, and this is no where near.

I visited here for a day visit and so cannot comment on the accommodation.
The resort itself is beautiful. The infinity pool was very nice but was smaller than I imagined - though of course the Indian Ocean is right there beckoning!
We went out on a boat to the reef and snorkelled there. This was wonderful, the woman on the boat was really good, (Marie?). The boat can only contain a few passengers and so you have to book in good time.
The seating areas are sumptuous and there are beautiful beach daybeds and sunbeds. There was plenty of room for everyone and drinks were beautiful.
I have removed one star for the food quality which was not as good as expected - I ate from the Italian area of the buffet and also the dessert section.
Everything is very clean and nicely looked after, though changing rooms would be useful too. Take good beach shoes as the sand is sharp underfoot.

Today is my last night in the resort. Frankly speaking, the hardware in the hotel is great and well maintained. There are many selection of Food & Beverage. Rooms are comfortable. But the soundproof in the room was not so good. My neighbour is a family. My wife and I were waked up by the noice which the kid made first day in the morning. Most of staff are quite friendly. Some are not really flexible. The most important thing for Hospitality workers is to satisfy guests' requirements. But couple of staff I met in the resort found different reasons to reject me, which made me feel that the service value is not equally to the money we paied. There are so many hungry taxi drivers waiting at the main entrance. If you stand there for a minute, they would keep pushing you to go with them, which is really annoying. In general, it is a good resort. Enjoy the time spent here.

Room Tip: The rooms near by La Phrare restaurant is quiet and peaceful. Although it is away from reception, bu...
