With the shortage of good take-out restaurants in St. Albert for Chinese Food and the recent closing of another thought would give the Golden Dynasty a try! We were so hoping to at least have 'average' take-out as we do enjoy a variety of eating experiences and haven't been happy with available choices. As such ordered a dinner for two and arranged to substitute the deep-fried shrimp for another shrimp dish <at an additional charge which was fine>. When picking up there were four others there as well which was most hopeful. Upon arriving home soon found that the substitution WASN'T made so decided to make the most of it. Needless to say the shrimp was of the usual take-out variety <bland and soggy> and the sweet/sour spareribs were equally terrible. Very tough, chewy with little meat. They were in that bland 'red sauce' which didn't manage to hide the quality of the dish <quite the opposite>. The chicken fried rice also had little flavour, colour, or ingredients which also placed it in the 'below average' category. The one dish which was okay was the chicken chow mein which we finished. While I hate to give such a negative review and strongly believe in supporting local business, on this occasion it is necessary to be honest and not steer anyone to this establishment. Might have to try the takeout at Safeway after all !!
