“Old building converted into modern restaurant”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

Modern restaurant? In the sense of meals, recipes etc. - yes, but in spite modern menu it is en old Dutch building converted into a resraurant. Furniture looks lika film settings from 1960's. Waiters are young and fast and furious, smiling so much that you are afraid they will get wrinkles in an early age.

Food is better than good, and the view on the harbour makes it tset even better.

Try fish and you'll make no mistake!
(And some wine at reasonable price.)

“Harbourside restaurant”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

An unpretentious restaurant at the harbourside in Scheveningen Haven, in a coverted harbour building (where a number of restaurants are located), in the (industrial) harbour area (good parking during the evening). Two floors. Ask for a window table of the second floor, if available. Unsurprisingly, they have fresh fish and daily specials. Quality of the food is very good, nice tastes, fine dining! The atmosphere is "cosy" and not very formal, but somewhat upscale. They have an excellent winelist (winespectator rated), with a very large choice from affordable to crazy prices. Really good wines that are difficult to get in this country. Staff is very attentive. A real gem in Scheveningen. Call ahead to reserve a table.

“Good food nice staff”
Reviewed February 1, 2013 via mobile

I hd dinner here and we ordered the luxe waterproef surprise menu, it was good food taste also very good but it was a little overpriced - all and all good but value for money ? It's what you decide I think it's overpriced. Over friendly staff ( little annoying) how to see how they treat there regular customers ( brown nosing XL )

“Good Food with a view of Scheveningen Harbour”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

The decor is really simple yet elegant. The view of the harbour and ships is really fabulous.
We had lunch there on a bright sunny day and our table was overlooking the water - so it was great. The staffs were attentive and professional, although the service could be a bit faster. However we were not complaining because we were not in a hurry.

We ordered the Chef deluxe menu (4 courses). Starters were lightly-grilled scallops, followed by delicious fresh salads, then some white fish that's wonderfully cooked, and lastly desserts of chocolate mouse and vanilla and hazelnut parfait. The white wines were really good.

As for the prices, since the food, wine and service are of high quality and standard, so we were not surprised when the bill came to high prices too! But overall, it's worth it.

“If you're into fish then you can't go wrong!”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

This restaurant is situated in a small block of other restaurants overlooking the small harbour filled with boats.

First off, the good points:
1). Great location
2). Great interior
3). Good food
4). Pleasant staff

Er…now for the negatives:
1). Slowish service but not a show stopper.
2). Value – this restaurant is expensive for what you get. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good but it is waaaayyyy overpriced!
3). If you are not into fish I would suggest looking elsewhere.
4). Keep an eye on the bill. They charged us twice for a bottle of water but then in fairness they didn’t put some beers on.
