Attraction details
Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Lengkuas Island located in the waters of the Belitung Island, and is about 30 minutes away by boat from Tanjung Kelayang beach or Tanjung Binga in District Sijuk, Belitung. In Lengkuas Island there is Lighthouse, built by Dutch colonial in 1882 and still actively working for marine navigation. Visitors must wash feet with fresh water before entering the lighthouse buildings constructed of steel, because the sea water can cause rust on the building. From the lighthouse, you can see beauty of the white sandy beaches on the island with giant granite rocks and clear sea water greenish.

“The Lighthouse Tour in Belitung”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

A trip to Lengkuas island, can be started by taking a boat from the shores of Tanjung Kelayang beach. The trip is a quiet one lasting about 30 minutes with some spectacular views enroute to marvel at.
The Lengkuas island is distinct and stands out versus the rest of the island you would hop on to, around Belitung, due to the 120+ year Lighthouse tower. Its about 19 winds to the top of the tower, with a few pants and huffs, which will be forgotten when your eyes feast on the 360 degree panoramic views that you witness.
For those who do not want to make the climb, you still have some lovely waters to swim in, and plenty of trees on the island under which you would like to put your picnic mat and simply rest and watch time go by. Just make sure you pack yourself some lunch. Not many options available on the island.
If you are on an island hopping trip, you would be on the Lengkuas island for roughly about an hour before going to Pulau Burung and the other equally scenic, stunning islands.

If you make your way to Belitung and Tanjung Tinggi, Tanjung Kelayang beaches, you should take the island hopping trip to Lengkuas. Unmissable for sure !!

“A hidden gem @ Belitung”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

There are so many islands which form the Belitung (Biliton) and Lengkuas island (Pulau Lengkuas) is one of the medium size islands which often visited by tourists from the main Belitung island. The beach is beautiful with its white sandy beach and lush greens and coconut trees. There is also a Light House built during the Dutch colonial era. The water is clear and its perfect for children to play on the beach... one can also sit on the beach and let the waves gently massage your body and it;s a bliss during a hot day - which is a standard weather all year round. During end of the year, it's high tide so make sure that you are ready for the strong waves and high tides during your boat journey to the islands. The boat owners usually will provide the basic life jacket. It's certainly worth the "adventurous" trip ;-)

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013 via mobile

the island can be reached by boats departing from tanjung kelayang beach. The journey will take about 30 minutes and the sights during the trip itself are perfect, untouched white sands, clear transparent blue water, calming rocks. I almost cannot see any disturbing small spot on my 360degrees view. It is heaven.
You can ask to boatmen to stop by at several small islands which located everywhere during your trip to take some beautiful photos. They also can assist you to snorkeling spots.
The lengkuas island itself occupied by 3 lighthouse staff. Like its neighbours, it has white sand and transparent beach. You can buy coffee and several supermarket-like packed snacks there, and you can also go up the lighthouse to see the beautiful scenery. As clean water is rare on the island, just use water at the beach if you need to clean yourself. Also, you can do some small charity by bringing clean water from mainland to these men.
As boats are privately hired boats, i suggest to travel to this island in a group to make it cheaper. The rental prices are reasonable, and usually include hotel/airport pickup and transfer service.

“beach sand and rocks!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

belitung island also known as "negeri laskar pelangi" is one of the beautiful place in indonesia. Personally i want to go to this island because I'm a huge fan of best seller novel and film "Laskar pelangi". I want to see the actual places that have been told in the novel, and also see the beautiful scenery that i saw in movie. I highly recommend to use travel agency while you in belitung, because public transportation only operated till noon and i hardly can't find place to rent a car.
I took tour that brought me to lengkuas island, kalayang island, and other island around. all i can say about the view is Extremely beautiful. It's breathtaking! all the beaches not crowded so you can have a privacy, the water is very clean, white sands, very very great view! you can also do snorkeling here and the coral nice too. You must go up the lighthouse and you can see great view from there. one of the main feature on beach are lots of large rocks! awesome view!

“Exotic Island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

The beach is very clean and the waves are children friendly even for baby but the location is quite far from the port. Do not recommend you to go there during rainy season as the waves can be 2 meters long or even higher.
