I am in a sailing boat from Asker outside Oslo, heading for further northern part of Norway, when I had an evening by myself in Sandnessjøen. I walk around in the city center and found Scandinavie Mat og Vinhus at the corner of Petter Dass' Plass and Torolv Kveldulvsonsgate and went in for having a look. In first floor they had a old fashion style restaurant with an exclusive look and no people (after all it was on a Monday a week before summer peak season starts). I took the chance and sat down and was met by a very sweat and nice swedish waiter (thank God they come to Norway and show us was service is, unknown for our native waiters). I ordered their signature dish which was the Norwegian traditional Boknafisk (look it up at Google). This from the dried codfish of the season, only dried for some few weeks and then cooked and fried in a special way, served with carrots and piers together with bacon hard fried and fresh potatoes. Just a perfect Boknafisk ( and I have taste some in Norway). The dessert was yogurt ice-cream with rhubarb jam, just perfect. I had to talk with the chef and was a bit surprised when it was a very nice and young female chef, not a day over 25, and I gave her all my complements for a superb dinner. Pitty I could not share this experience with my wife or good friends or colleagues. 10 out of 10 points
