Description: Prashad is an award winning Indian vegetarian restaurant in the heart of West Yorkshire. It is based in a renovated pub building in Drighlington, which has been transformed into an intimate and vibrant Gujarati eaterie. It features a large bar area where the in-house mixologist serves up perfectly-matched cocktails, locally-brewed beers and wines with roadside snacks and Indian tapas. There are three different dining areas and a snug that can be individually booked for private parties. The open pass kitchen brings the passionate Head Chef and her team closer to the customers. In the last 12 months alone we have been awarded the Morrisons Magazine Great Grub Award 2013, the Yorkshire Life Chef of the Year 2013 (which Minal and Kaushy won jointly), the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand 2014, and the Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Awards Best Indian Restaurant 2014!

It took 1 hr 30 mins to get there from Bolton but cannot wait to go again.I had eaten takeaways brought home by my mother Lynda from Flexco and she promised to take me for my birthday. We had the mixed starter and the spicy uttapam. For mains we had the black channa and potato and the mili jhuli bhaji with the special chaat as a side with 2 different rices. All the food was AMAZING so many different tastes and then was brought a birthday cake as a suprise.GREAT NIGHT.THANKYOU TO ALL THE TEAM.Hope to see you again.Paul

Hi Paul, wow we didn't realise you are from the Flexco family, they are a good friend. So pleased that you really enjoyed the restaurant experience, we especially loved reading that EVERYTHING was amazing, I will certainly congratulate the team and along with all reviews will be reading this out to them on Tuesday morning. Looking forward to seeing you again...Bobby

“meat? heat? who needs meat when food is this incredible”
Reviewed June 23, 2012

My 79 year old mother and I drove from Sheffield to visit Prashads due to its excellent reputation. my mother had little experience of tasting spicy food, and her palate was not accustomed to chilli heat at all. having the option - when booking on-line - to leave a note to that effect meant that our very helpful and attentive waiter was able to help us choose dishes that introduced the diverse spices, flavours and textures of Prashads exceptionally good authentic quisine, with no fear of burning. despite her reservations, her horizons are much broader now!
I have eaten a lot of Indian food before, but never this varied, fresh, healthy and light. no lakes of ghee. no ghee at all. no chewy lamb. I love well cooked meat but didn't miss it one bit.
This is genuinely the best meal I have had. I cannot recommend Prashads highly enough.
For the same price as the competition (no competition at all) with generic sauces and food colourings, you will get fast, friendly, informative service, from happy staff, in a family run restaurant, with food that will make your mouth water at the mere thought of it.
If you don't like it or aren't sure, SAY SOMETHING! they clearly love what they do and will be only too happy to listen and try to meet your needs.
Wow. It was well worth the trip up the M1

Hi Andy, Thanks for a great review, we are really pleased to read that we have managed to open your mum's world up a little and have been part of this new experience, spice is very often misunderstood and associated with burning, actually spice is the ability for great chefs to add so much more than burn. Thanks for saying that all our customers have to do is say, we are here for you and we are passionately bothered to make sure you have a fantastic meal, if we are not hitting your expectations then give us a fighting chance and we will do anything to ensure a timely solution is achieved. Andy being that this was the best meal you have ever had we hope you give a chance soon to beat that...Bobby

Hi iscranman, thanks for your review, not sure what I can say as from your review it is actually difficult to talk about anything specific, what did you order, did you have starters, mains, desserts. We authentically serve dishes from 3 parts of India which was it that didn't meet your expectations..Bobby

“Tastes from a different world.”
Reviewed June 17, 2012

We chose this restaurant on the back of the TV show and had been looking forward to visiting.

We were warmly welcomed. The waiter was informative and pleasant; we decided to order the taster starter which was incredible, the plate had a range of food which challenged the taste buds and the mind.

We had opted for Nan bread with the main course, the smell and texture was beautiful, the meal was delicious. We enjoyed the whole experience and have booked to return again.

We expected to be kept quite tight to the times that are stated on the web site, however they were more than amenable to us taking out time over coffee.

We would recommend this restaurant to anyone wishing to eat authentic Indian food.
