Ciampedie, as the base for easy excursions to Gardecia and Vajolet, can be quite crowded. So, one could think that a restaurant there would become a tourist trap. Yet, Baita Checco do an excellent job of accomodating families and hikers without compromising on quality. They have a simple children's menu that our children loved (it came with lollipops...). We had plenta with sausage and a heap of wild mushrooms, and a mixed plate of Tyrolean fare (wurst, kraut...). Excellent homemade desserts: strudel, berry yoghourt.
