We were going to the Isle of Mull for a week from the Monday, but, living in Yorkshire, couldn't make a good ferry time,so looked for somewhere to stay near Oban. We remembered the Slate islands from a visit a few years' ago, so I booked the Tigh an Truish. At first, I was put off by doing the breakfast myself, but it turned out to be a great idea. My partner, having driven for 6 hours + on the Sunday was able to sleep as long as he needed without having to get up for a breakfast deadline. It was a perfect start to a holiday.
We ate in the bar on the Sunday evening, and the only complaint is that both my partner and me thought we were given oven chips with our meals - the haddock was really tasty. The sticky toffee pudding made up for the chips, being both huge and delicious.
I would happily book a week here - the Slate islands are beautiful, and so is the whole area.More
