We wandered into this pub looking for a good value and good food. The hostess initially wanted to seat us very close to another table, but we requested a different location, and found ourselves in a cozy 'grotto' room. Since we're not claustrophobic, we enjoyed being in the center of a small, low stone/brick room with about 25 other diners. This choice also turned out to be good because shortly after we arrived they cranked up the music in the other room. The lamb stew was OK, but nothing special.... though it could be that the diner didn't like lamb stew prepared with beer. The salmon burger was done perfectly. The fries were very good. The service was okay, but though she said she'd bring an ice bucket for the wine, she never did.
