We stayed on a quiet Monday night - we had a friendly welcome, the room was refurbished (but the double glazed window units need replacing) and we had an excellent light meal which was just what we wanted that night. Remote controls are kept behind the bar as they keep being taken, and it would be helpful if something could be put in the room to advise you to ask for one. Breakfast was excellent with very pleasant service (and no-one trying to clean up around us!) Right outside the station, so just right if you're travelling without a car. It's a traditional town centre hotel but has done its best to keep up with the times.

Got to the hotel and was greeted by someone in a dirty tee shirt. We went to our room and was surprised, it was small but quite clean. Hotel advertises flat screen television with several channels. Sadly someone had stolen the remote control so alas no chance of watching anything. The first night we had a beautiful meal in the restaurant and a continental breakfast the next morning. Second night I think the chef had a night off. The food was not at all good and thank god the continental breakfast was chosen. The couple on a table beside me had a full English which could only be described as awful. After telling the waitress that the dinner I had was not acceptable the Managers wife apologised and said that I would not be charged for the main course. I did not bother telling her that I had bought a groupon deal and in fact the main meal came in with the price. Would be a good idea if the cleaner did not hoover and chat on her mobile phone while people are having their breakfast. Todmorden is a great base Hebden Bridge York and main towns are easily reached by rail. The station is a 30 second walk from the Hotel. Do not let that put you off you cannot hear the trains.

Room Tip: Room 5 is apparently bigger than the others

bought a groupon deal for the Queen Hotel in Todmorden and was pleasantly suprised. What i thought was a small village turned out to be a really nice town with some lovely places to eat and drink. I can highly recomment the Beer Shop. Really friendly couple and they had a band playing that were really good. Went back to the Queens for dinner which was included in the groupon deal and oh my word the food was amazing. I had Lamb chopes with Rosemary Mash and my other half had the Seabass with Bombay Potatoes. We would have been happy to try everything on the menu so we will be going back.
We later went to listen to another live band at the Posh Knob. Again they were excellant.
The Queen Hotel has recently been refurbished and our room was lovely.

Room Tip: Take your own hair dryers. There are none in the rooms

We stayed here on a Groupon deal last week.

The hotel is friendly and is very clean. Rooms are very nicely decorated, although on the small side they were adequate. Flatscreen TV and ample tea/coffee in room, comfortable bed. Large clean bath/shower.

The restaurant was reasonably good and is decent value.

The bar in the evening was quite busy and all of the staff were nice and friendly

Todmorden is a nice village with decent walks nearby and a surprising number of decent pubs.

Stayed at the Queen Hotel for one night in May with a Groupon deal. We had a great short break. The staff at the Queen are wonderful, helpful, welcoming and relaxed. The bar, restaurant and rooms have recently been refurbished to a high standard and look really good. The stairs to the rooms and landings do need some attention and are obviously a work in progress however everywhere was spotlessly clean.

The bar offers a good selection of beer and wines, We arrived a lunch time and had burger and potato wedges with a side salad in the bar. Very filling and tasty and a really good price. At dinner we had an excellent meal, I can recommend the slow-roast lamb shank with mint mash and lots of fresh very finely cooked veg for less than £9, hubby had swordfish steak in honey and garlic served with veg for less than £10, fantastic prices for the amount and quality of food. The upgrade to full English breakfast for less than £4 is excellent value for money.

A lot of time and effort are obviously being put into making this hotel a really good place to stay and I would definitely recommend the Queen for a short break.

We stayed on Thursday April 19th with a Groupon deal, and experienced the same friendly welcome, decent large room and good meal. It was very good value for money, but as we arrived during the week, we experienced problems with parking - the hotel is opposite the station and every possible parking space in the area is taken until around 6pm, when the commuters return.
We eventually managed to get a space in the station car park and enjoyed the rest of the stay.
