Manu the pizza maker is lovely, and tries his best with English! It was a great outdoor venue for us as we enjoyed the variety of pizzas and salads. We sat outdoors for stunning sunsets. Mosquitoes were present but not a nightmare. A little cat came by for my toddler's by-the-side-of-the-table mess, much to her delight.

The gambas (prawns) in white wine sauce were terrific, and the vegetarian pizza (I confess, I added lardons) was tremendous. It was such an affordable and great option that we returned for a second dinner during our week long stay and it met expectations the second time too.

Only complaint is that the beers are small and expensive for what they are.

The wood-fired oven is probably what makes it. Or is it the owner with great sense of humor? Or is it just that the food tastes great? Perhaps because it is such a good price? Or maybe all of it. We had a very satisfying late night meal at le Canotier. It was not planned but it was great. We were 7 people and all of us felt good about the food and the atmosphere. Simple but great.

We have been coming to Le Canotier for a number of years, and the food and service has been consistently excellent. Great pizza and meat dishes prepared by Manu in his wood fired oven. A restaurant not to be missed, with wonderful simple food at reasonable prices that is popular with locals and tourists alike.

The owners are very friendly. Monsieur looks after front of house and has a very good sense of humour as does madame who does the cooking and comes out for some fresh, cool air!

She does the best green beens with garlic I've ever had!

The pizza's are great, the lasagne is very good (as good as my Italian grandmother's!)

Cash only though!
